"Fun Stuff"

I wanted to combine some thrift store finds with some other fun stuff!

I was so thrilled to win a giveaway on the blog 'She's Sew Pretty' !

Look at this beautiful corsage and all of the wonderful lace she sent me!

She makes some of the prettiest things and has an ETSY store you will love!

Does anyone remember having a green water container in the refrigerator
when they were growing up? ( if you grew up in the '50s and 60s! lol )

We had one just like this so I was excited to find this one at Goodwill!
I also bought a quart milk bottle

and this sweet dish.

I love Goodwill but their prices have gone up a lot here.
Have they where you live?

I found something else today at a thrift store but I will save that for later.
I need to take more pics! But for a doll lover...it was a great find!

Have a happy Friday!

Nice finds...that's a sweet little pale green dish. I haven't been to Goodwill for a few weeks. Will have to see if it holds true for our corner.

I'm going to goodwill next week, hubby is on vacation and we are going to make the rounds....I like colored glass and that green bottle is beautiful. I would put some fresh cut flowers in it and a pretty bow around the top!! great finds! hugs, Jennifer

What wonderful finds. Don't you love shopping at Goodwill? I went to a thrift store earlier this week and there the prices were really low. Lots of little treasures. The milk bottle sure brings back memories. No more milk deliveries at your door today.

Love all your pretty things and your big bag of lace.

It was wonderful when we used to have milk in glass bottles, so much nicer than cardboard and plastic.

I'm so glad you liked your corsage! I have never seen one of those water bottles! It is the perfect shade of green. I'll have to keep my eye out for one. Our Goodwill's prices have gone up too. We were there today and I told my daughter that I think they've forgotten that they are a "thrift" store!

How come I never find nice stuff when I go out? Maybe I need someone with an eye for things.

I love the green water bottle! SO cool. There's just nothing cool made these days. Well, I guess if I say that I'll have to stop shopping. You know, if there's nothing cool. So I guess I retract that first statement :)

Congratulations on your win! Great finds. I have noticed prices are higher at the thrift stores, especially on the clothes. Have a nice weekend! Twyla

Congrats on winning the great goodies. We had a container of water in the fridge when I was growing up, but I can't remember if it was green. I think it was clear.

Diane, I don't remember those green glass containers. But I do remember some white ones that had fruit painted on them.
Ah...so many of our childhood memories are now in thrift shops, aren't they! Those things are now considered "old" but WE aren't! We're getting BETTER! ;-)

I'm drooling over all that lace but you know me....I'd spray paint over it!!

And to answer your question, YES, our Goodwill thinks it's a boutique or an antique shop by looking at some of their prices. I've quit going there and usually try the smaller thrift stores in our area,

Hi Diane,

I love the green jar, but could not quite read the name on the side. It looks vintage, and also liked the milk bottle. Brings back memories of days gone by.

My wife and I can not wait to see what you have for Memorial day.

Betty makes the most delightful treasures. Congratulations for winning some. I'm old enough but we never had green water bottles. I'd love one that color now!
