Life is Good!

We had a wonderful weekend
AND Monday is my favorite day of the week!

"Nothing could by finer....than to be in Carolina"

The BBQ was a great success and tasty, too!
And the weather was fabulous!

To make our lives even better,
we have a new restaurant near by
"The Mountain Pie Company"
and yes, it is just as good as it sounds!
It is a bakery, specializing in PIES! OH MY!

I stopped by one afternoon
and got cheesecake to share with my honey
and he stopped by and got a muffin.

They were both amazing!
I want to buy a whole pie but deciding which one will be the problem!
What is your favorite pie?

I was hungry for brownies this week and tried
to change a recipe and make it healthier. EEEE!
The Hershey's dark chocolate taste conflicted
with the honey I substituted for sugar!
And believe me.....they look better than they taste!

I won't pass on this recipe.....it was pretty much a disaster!
heeheehee!

We bought a small bookcase to go in the entry
and it works perfectly.

It's functional for dropping off the mail, cell phone, etc
but of course I will want a little 'decor' on it!

Have a happy Monday! My favorite day of the week!

And Happy Birthday to my girlfriend, Kaila!
HAVE FUN today, sweet friend!

I'm thrilled to know there's another nut out there that loves Mondays! When I tell people that, they look at me sideways...like "you are kiddin?" Are you a January baby? I like new starts, new years...a new day. Mondays are my day off and I agree...Carolina is fine and so is that chocolate...yummy in our tummy...have a extra special day!

Thanks for the pizza recipe. Going to try that. The ear cuffs look pretty and 'Mountain Pie' company conjures up such a homely image. Hope every day is as happy as Monday! x

As for the brownies: Healthy is not always tasty. Alas.

Thanks for the birthday wishes (and the gift).

Happy Monday.

Oh, dear....a pie restaurant nearby. I'd be in serious trouble! My favorite is pecan pie! But then I'd also take apple, or cherry, or banana cream, or....I think you get the picture! My mom used to make me butterscotch pie (from scratch) for my birthday at my request.

Now I'm off to look for my "fat" pants. I think I just gained a few pounds!!

Ya know what, Diane? I like Monday's too! Only, with Bobby home- Mondays don't really seem like Mondays anymore!

Ooooh, those deserts looks soooo yummy! I have an awful big sweet tooth! ♥

The pie looks great! Sometimes it is great recreating a recipe...sometimes not - lol.

Your bookcase looks great in your entry. Can't wait to see what you put on top of it...

hi! i am always attempting to make recipes healthy/healthier. you win some, you really lose some! the other day i substituted canola oil for butter in a muffin recipe and pleased to report that it worked out. i think that was healthier anyway?

thanks so much for leaving such a nice comment on my blog and entering my giveaway!

Monday is my favorite day (now - retired). Key Lime up north it was pecan. For my birthday as a child, I always requested Lime Chiffon for my birthday instead of a cake. But now in FL, I know what key lime is and WHOA! Love it. Blessings, Jan

Happy Belated Monday to you
Thats not my favourite day of week I think if I were home retired it might be ... but not while working.

That bookshelf is a great size and I bet you'll think of how to decorate it. Lovely colour.

The brownies look gooyie yum to me. I bet they still tasted good. Now that pie doesn't look so "healthy" as you talked about the brownies but must be delish!

Wonderful BLUE skies...and Happy Belated Birthday to your friend!

Come by and visit some time when you have a chance..

I love your card at the beginning of your blog. I would love to use those for Christmas.

Penny and I are still hoping we can all get together when she gets settled in her new house.

I hope I can join you and Penny when you get together! We are still in the process of moving, too! And the art at the beginning is a framed print hanging in the entry. This is painted by a local artist, D. Morgan.

Hi Diane, That pie looks so yummy. I don't have a favorite, I guess I like too many to choose. LOL!! The brownies also look good.
Love your little entry chest. Can't wait to see how you dress it up.
I love Monday's too. New start with each new week.
Happy Birthday to your friend.

I am on a staycation this week and doing stuff around the house. See you when I am back in the studio.

It looks so pretty where you live. The pie looks amazing too. I made a peach pie Sunday. The peaches are terrific right now.

I recognize the artist of your print as D. Morgan because I love her work and have a few of her pieces. One of them hangs above my bed and one I hang up at Christmastime.
My goodness, that pie place sounds fabulous and the cheesecake looks yummy. Bummer about your brownies.

Hi Dianne!
You asked if I had ever mosaicked a child's chair before... Yes! But i don't have any pictures of it. I decided to mosaic another one and posted about it today.

Pie sounds wonderful. French Apple is my favorite.

Love those blue skies.

Hi Diane,

Oh - yummy - the pie looks fabulous - what a cute name for a pie shop. Makes me homesick for the N.C. Mountains. It makes me happy to read that you love Mondays. I always think of them as a fresh new start for the week.
Have a wonderful and fun week.
Blessings,
Erin

I need bookcases. I long ago ran out of shelf space. This one looks to be a good one too. I should repalce my entry table for a book case...great idea.
