"Wednesday Wee Ones"

I had a fun Raggedy Ann weekend!

(Sorry I didn't realize the flash didn't go off! EEEEE)

She was on the clearance shelf at Magpie's and almost got
put into a plastic bag on my way out!

I know the lady that checked me out thought it was funny
that I took her out of the bag and carried her out like she was real!

Look at the detail in her sweet little dress!

The Fall decorations in the store were amazing!
I should go back with my camera! lol

And I won a sweet giveaway at the Raggedy Ann blog party
and she sent me this beautiful fabric!
I can't wait to start a sewing project!
Thank you SO much!

And I found the Golden book at Goodwill!
PERFECT!

And I know you are thinking I am showing the same
Fall decorations....but look close!

I sewed a tiny Hemlock Pinecone
on this cute little scarecrow!

Now he's complete!

Enjoy your Wednesday!
Take time to PLAY
and SEW!!!

Happy Monday...the LIST!

We love Fall because .....

Candles and Pumpkins
Fall foliage and Pumpkin Marmalade
Fall colors and cooler weather
Reds and gold...the colors of Fall
Relief from the heat, nice cool air,
wonderful new foods on the menu, football season
The changing of the seasons
Blogging and celebrating it's arrival
Apples, sweaters, football, leaves, candles, rain - it's all great
My happy fall moments are watching these crazy whimsical
squirrels in the chestnut trees snatch the nuts and hide them.
Hearing the sweet things that my boy says about it
Kids born in the Fall...I like the cool mornings and warm afternoons,
the harvest type suppers, dark evenings with the fireplace.
I love the smell of woodstove smoke as I would walk through our
little town in Connecticut in the early morning.
The beautiful fall color. The taste of REAL fresh apple cider from
Sky Top Orchard in Flat Rock. Butternut squash soup.
Being able to wear sweaters

Isn't our list wonderful...and encouraging?
Thanks to everyone that gave me reasons to love Fall!

I am going to copy these into my journal
and ENJOY the Autumn season!

And to keep us busy...
my friend, Freckled Hen shared some links
for fun Halloween projects!
HERE'S the LINK!
And she even found me a black cat!
I've been looking for one to make!
THANKS!

And go to the Graphics Fairy for
some amazing Halloween clip art!

The weather man is predicting temps in the 40s this week
for our lows so the mountains will be even cooler......so
we should be seeing some glorious Autumn colors soon!

Stormy weather over the mountains this weekend!

Enjoy your Monday...
my favorite day of the week!

Happy Sunday!

I was looking for Burl Ives singing "Lavender Blue Dilly Dilly"
and I found it but the quality was scratchy
and then I remembered my FAVORITE Burl Ives song,
The Ugly Bug Ball!

And You Tube HAD it!
Oh, this is just the best!
You may be old enough to remember this
or if not....you will be delighted
to see it for the first time!

We have a set of Disney CDs with music from many of the movies
and this song is on one of the CDs. (the video is even better!)
It's great for dancing with grand kids!

Photos of the Park where I walk every day!

Enjoy your Sunday!

And if you love to decorate like I do
visit Cozy Little House !!!
I always enjoy my time there
and learn something, too!

Visit Crickleberry Cottage
for Sunday sayings.
Very nice!

And don't forget...
What do you love about Fall?
I'm making a list!

Take time to SING
and DANCE!
(and decorate! lol)

Happy Fall!

Or "Turning over a new leaf"
(no pun intended!)

Align CenterI declare... beginning today... to love Fall
and everything that goes with it!

I have said for years that I feel sad and melancholy
in the Fall and I have used that to make excuses
for a 'melancholy mood'.

And that is just so NOT me!
heehee!

I sat down with a notebook yesterday
and wrote...and wrote...and wrote!
I think I can put it aside now
and change.

There are so many good things
happening in my life right now and
I am thankful for all of my blessings.

I also realize that what you put out into the universe
comes back to you. And if I thought I had my feelings
a little hurt a few days ago when the consignment shop
gave away my purse.....that was NOTHING compared
to the hurt someone imposed on me yesterday.
(and I can only think they did it because
they are going through a bad time)

So I am going to quit whining and thinking sad thoughts
and change my attitude. And I thank all of my blogger friends
for sharing your amazing posts and sweet comments
that make such a difference in my life!

Here's something to make us smile!

I have a miniature pumpkin collection!

A lady has a studio and teaches ceramic classes at
"Our Family Crafts" in a town nearby
and she always has these precious pumpkins at
the craft shows...and I always buy everyone she has!

Don't they make you happy?

Please tell me something about Fall that makes YOU happy!
I'm making a list!
And I plan to post it!
Thanks!

"Wednesday Wee Ones"

I'm still not sure this big girl qualifies as a "Wee One"
but she's the one that got redressed this weekend!

She really is a pretty girl and a sculpt by Monica Peter Leicht.

The website is fun and if you want to see other dolls
by this artist go HERE ! The dolls are so life like!

I love this little outfit on her
and she has her Jack O Lantern

and a little Fall bear that my girlfriend,
Kaila gave me a few years ago
when I visited her in PA!

Enjoy your day and don't forget...
Take time to PLAY!!!

And keeping with the beautiful Fall colors...

Aren't these mushrooms amazing!

Color has not been changed!
And they are HUGE !!!

They were at the entrance to the library yesterday!

The beauty of nature!

I wonder what crayon would match these...hhmmm!
ENJOY!!!

Getting the wind knocked out of your sails.......

I'm sure everyone knows how that feels.
It doesn't have to be something huge
just something really disappointing.

Since we've been in the process of moving to a smaller
home, I've made trip after trip to Goodwill and donated
to several organizations but.....

I thought some of my better things, personal clothing, etc.
would sell in a nice big consignment store that we have close by.

Lulu's is very convenient AND I've spent lots of money in there
buying household things, clothing, jewelry and purses.

This is getting to be a long story but the gist of it is....
today I bought some things and when I got to the check out
I asked for an inventory sheet.
I told the lady that I had not seen the Dooney and Bourke purse
that I had brought it about a month ago for consignment.
She checked on the computer and this is what it said,
"It was a fake and was donated."

What a shock!
As if hearing they had declared it a fake was not
enough of a shock....it was GONE....it was DONATED!
And they didn't call or email me!

I talked to the owner and realize their policy is valid.
They cannot sell fake items.
And she kept telling me that she was sorry that I had bought a fake.
Well, I am sorry I did, too....
but I am MORE sorry that I don't have it anymore!

So that knocked the wind out of my sails today.
I know I will feel better later but right now
I feel a little like someone ripped me off...
TWICE!

I don't think I have ever used my blog to vent
but so many of you feel like real girlfriends now
and my husband would rather I talk to one of you!

He's good for HUGS...but he's about talked out on this subject!
heeheehee!

Have a great day! I feel better now!

A fun decorating idea!

My sister came up with this really fun idea!

All you need to buy is a string of orange lights
from K Mart or Walmart.
I bought mine last year and I think they were $2.99.

Everything else you probably have on hand!Align Center

Last year I put them in a large glass bowl.
My sister uses a punch bowl.

You layer Fall silk leaves, pumpkins, gourds, wooden apples,
whatever you have and as you are putting
these into your bowl add the lights.

When it's dark the lights will shine through
and give a beautiful amber glow to the room.

This year I put my lights inside a
wicker pumpkin layering them with silk leaves.

It looks GREAT at night when you have soft lights
and candles on in the house!

Enjoy your Monday!

Happy Fall!!!
And THANKS to my sister, Delores
for all of the wonderful ideas and inspiration!

"Balsam Range"

We had the privilege of hearing "Balsam Range" at the park last night!

They have the #1 song in the country on the Bluegrass chart!
Listen to the band recording "Last Train to Kitty Hawk" below!

The rain held off long enough for us to enjoy some of their best songs!
What a treat!

Here are a few more photos taken from my

"Walk in the Park".

Enjoy your Sunday!

It's a FUN park for everyone!

We'll enjoy our rainy day today!

Vintage cookbook and more!

This isn't the Fall cookbook I planned to buy

but it was a Goodwill find that I could not pass up!

It was written in 1951 by Heloise Frost
and illustrated by Ellen Nelson.

The front page says,
"Tested in the kitchen of a New England Housewife"

I can't wait to try some of the recipes!

And later that day I went by New Visions
and found these birthday candles!

Fairy candles....ahhhh!!
My day was complete!

Have a wonderful Friday!
