I thought these old vintage curtains would make the cutest aprons!

And I was so anxious to make something while I am in Florida!

I missed my Bernina! lol

We saw a rainbow!
It always gives you a sense of hope!

What was the last sewing project you completed?
I need to get something going
that I can travel with!
Any ideas?

So cute, and so creative...I always admire folks that sew because it's an area that I've done battle in...just like the lawnmower, me and sewing machines clash so to answer your question...hmmm, the last time I sewed something was in 1973 making shorts in school...however, I suggest making a sleeping bag for the elf on your shelf, I spotted in your picture! Autumn may be too cool for him.

It could only be one of your marvellous aprons! You're the Queen of aprons!
I'm afraid..I can't sew and can't answer to your question or give you any sewing suggestion!
Lucky girl to be in the sunny Florida!

Cute apron!! I seldom sew. The last things I have sewn were burlap pillow for my website.

When are you coming back to NC?

What a brilliant idea I love it, I always cut Hexagons and sew them to paper it's a lovely way to pass the time and you end up with so many you have to make a scrap quilt.

Love your apron and your fun shelves!

I made a candy corn mouse this week! Not sure it would be a traveling craft since it requires paint!

Sweet apron! But I don't sew! It makes me feel like an idiot! ☺

A curtain! I actually thought it was an apron in the first photo! Well it looks even MORE cute as an actual apron. :)

I've been playing around with plenty of hand sewing lately - very portable. I made my friend's little girl some felt play cookies. There are TONS of ideas for cute felt food out there.

That's such a perfectly sweet, girlie apron! It's beautiful! ... Hows about making a special bonnet for one of your little dollies! Hugs, Paulette

Hi Diane, Love your apron. Really pretty. What a great idea to make from vintage curtains.
I just made new valances for our family room/library over the weekend, in a blue toile. I have other items to sew, but have to fit it in around all the painting. LOL
Glad you saw a rainbow!
Have a nice week.
Hugs, Celestina Marie

Hi Diane,

That is a sweet little vintage curtain and it will make a lovely apron.
I have been sewing some curtains for our Sons bedroom.

Enjoy your Autumn

I thought it a curtain ...but, I like it as an apron better! So very cute. I don't do much sewing when I'm traveling. I do more knitting! I think if I were to sew while traveling, probably would bring along some small embroidery items.

Maybe your mystery object is a clothes pin bag?
I think you could do some old-fashioned embroidered dish towels while you are away from your sewing machine....or get an "old"( they don't make them since the 1960's) Singer Featherweight (they are on E-bay all the time) which is wonderful to travel with. Of course, it only does a beautiful straight stitch, unless you get the attachements...buttonholer etc.

Recently I've been bitten by the apron bug! I love yours. I haven't done any sewing for such a long time maybe because I was never very good at it!
