A COOL walk in the park!

It was cool and windy today and I wasn’t sure if I would go for a walk

but once I got started it was fine. The sun even tried to peek out a time or two.

I walked back to my car and stood next to my car to take photos of the clouds.

It depended on which way you looked!

DSCN2652

You can tell the sky is a little ominous at times.

Not much color left

but a few trees are beautiful!

I didn’t alter any of these photos!

Here is my mystery duck.

(some of the duck photos have been cropped and sharpened)

There are a pair that are in the pond most of the time now. I think they are Merganzers…but not sure! The shape of the head looks like one.

DSCN2669

We’ve seen Merganzers in Florida.

My friend, Sherry from Q’s Corner has helped with the identification. It is a female Common Merganzer. Thanks Sherry! Go to her BLOG to see some of the most amazing bird and nature photos!

Have a wonderful day!

I think your mystery duck is a female Common Merganser.
I sometimes see the Hooded Merganser in December in a pond near my house here in Kansas City, Missouri.
Your clouds are so pretty.

I have never seen a duck like that! What a big head! It was windy and cool today. I stayed inside and painted - the powder room has it's first coat of paint on the beadboard!

I am no help with the duck. I've never seen one like that before. Our beautiful weather has turned to a cold rain. I'm not ready to give in to winter yet. You sure take good pictures. Enjoy your day! Twyla

Pretty pictures from your walk. I have never seen this duck before. Whenever I see ducks around here they seem to be mallards. Glad you shared their pic and the indentifying info.

I'm quite uneducated on the subject of ducks other than The Ugly Duckling, and Daffy Duck! Thank goodness we have friends in all the right places to help us out no matter what!

Beautiful postcard images Diane, it's been raining here everyday...way too much rain we had this year, so the weather is slightly cooler than the normal 34 celcius.. :)
