Join me in the kitchen....

When I look at the photos I’ve taken, I realize I do not have a lot of Christmas decor in my kitchen but there’s a reason....I like to COOK!

DSCN3100

I like the counters clear to give me space to work!

DSCN3101

This is a simple but pretty touch on my bar that I get lots of compliments on

DSCN3109

but it’s hard to get a good photo.

DSCN3119

We are looking out at the golf course here and I think I caught a golf cart in this photo! lol

DSCN3122

This area was cute for my Santa and little pixie collection.

DSCN3117

And one of these poinsettias is real and one is silk.

DSCN3118

Can you tell which one is which?

I love the colors of Christmas and I have a pretty pinecone candle wreath to use as a centerpiece on the kitchen table but now I am enjoying a new Jim Shore piece that was a gift from my mother in law...perfect for our kitchen.

DSCN3112

I promise the next time I cook....I will take a photo of the mess I make! heehee! Do you make a mess when you cook? Do you clean as you go or do a big clean up at the end?

Enjoy the holiday season and take time to COOK!

Me too! I like my kitchen to be nice, pretty, and clean. That means not too much stuff...just more places for the crumbs to hide. :)

Yours is so pretty. If I had that view I might never get anything done.

Your kitchen is so bright and clean. What are your favorite things to cook? I like your decorations, especially the stately candles on the bar.

First I love your kitchen and it reminds me of the one left behind. Now that I live in this 100 something old Farmhouse I cook in what was at one time the area around the back stairway going to the second floor bedroom.
If Santa brings me a digital for Christmas I will get brave and show everyone how small this kitchen is.
It even has the stairs still in it.
I am so messy when I cook that everyone puts on a apron during that time.
No counter space so you can imagine the challenge
Love your post
Merry Christmas
Maggie

Okay Miss tidy mighty. You are one immaculate housekeeper. Love your kitchen and the rest of your Florida escape. Is that home just for winter? I would have a very difficult time leaving it come spring.
I love Jim Shores work. I really like his earlier pieces. It seems that he has commercialize his work too much. I liked it when he was more primative. But you piece is just lovely and perfect for your Kitchen decor.

I clean as I go. Not much of anything at all in my kitchen. I don't have much counterspace at all, so have to keep it clean or there's nowhere to prepare anything. I just love that lighthouse! Did you paint that? Finally I get to see some of your house. I love to see people's houses and how they live.

What a wonderful kitchen to cook in! Yes, I make a mess when I cook. My Mom, who was a fantastic cook, used to say, "A messy cook is a great cook".

I feel the same way about clean counters. Just last night I told my husband we couldn't go to bed until the counter clutter had been banished. It was so nice to walk into a clean and tranquil kitchen this morning. I just wish it would stay that way!!
Your kitchen is very pretty. I love the lighthouse. Did you paint it?
I think the real poinsettia is on the left.
I like what you did on your bar counter. I always find that a challening place to decorate.

Have a happy day.

Hi Diane! Your kitchen is awesome, I like the decorations especially the line of candles, very pretty...When I cook, I clean up as I go along. I put alot of decorations out in the kitchen all year long and never seem to have enough space...I'm constantly moving something around...Have a Merry Christmas! Hugs, Jennifer

Thanks for sharing all your neatness...I am really looking forward to seeing your mess when your cooking in that spic'n'span kitchen of yours.
Loved all your decorations, especially the little elves and the boat on wheels. BTW did you paint the mural on the wall?

Hi Q, Your site is completely new to me. thank you for visiting me, I love your kitchen, what a wonderful place to cook in. Mine looks very different, much less tidy and smart. I love cooking, particularly for guests (I'm not so fond of the daily grind of 'catering'), and when I'm done cooking the kitchen looks like a bomb hit it.

I enjoyed your post and shall certainly be back to sample more of your entries.

Ooooh Diiiaaane! Your kitchen is just as pretty as the rest of your house! I love everything including that lighthouse on the wall! I have berries all over the place, I just love them, and I really love how you used them here with your candles!... I make such a mess when I cook. Sometimes I clean as I go, and sometimes I leave it all till the end, depending on the time between cooking steps, plus I'm very easily distracted, and I've burned my share of onions quite a few times, and then had to start again, so I also have to keep a very watchful eye! (run-on sentences, big time!) Hugs, =D

Your kitchen looks big and wonderful. It's nice that you have so much counter space. I think a crazy man who did not understand women and their kitchens must have designed mine.

I have to clean as I go along because of not very much room. There have been times when I haven't though and I hate myself for it.

It's official: I will never invite you to my apartment. I do clean as I go, but there is minimal counter space, so the kitchen always looks cluttered.

If only I did not have to/love to eat. My kitchen would look great and so would my body. :-)

Your kitchen looks so nice! The countertops are very attractive.

Goodness, I am quite messy when I cook. All countertops are used at once. Somehow, the stovetop also gets spattered. Clean as I go works best.

Oh my! Your hubby is so talented! Your kitchen just looks wonderful and that lighthouse is inspired. (Well, I just HAD to take a look.)

BEAUTIFUL kitchen Diane. We have 2, one dry where we eat our meals and use the oven and another one for all the heavy cooking. Most households have 2 different ones here, probably there's a lot of frying and we dont want the oil on the cabinets :P
