Let’s paint a lighthouse!

Thanks for all the sweet comments about our kitchen...and I do mean ‘ours’!

My hubby painted the lighthouse!

CRon0731

He’s so talented and it’s perfect for our house.

It’s hard to get a good photo of the blue color.

KLthse0747

It’s a little more slate blue and not so bright but the camera flash brightens it! (my hubby just told me it’s Sherwin Williams, Leisure blue)

I am trying not to over do the light house theme but keep it simple.

LightBest1483

We had this wonderful Folk Art print by Mary Ann Vessey.

LthsePic1485

and my hubby had this old oar.

I have space above my kitchen cabinets but I want to collect things over time that work and not go to a store and buy things that match...and make it too ‘store bought’!

The weather has been fabulous! It was 74 degrees yesterday! It’s raining this morning...a good day to get some things done inside!

Here’s the photo we took in St. Augustine, FL that was his inspiration!

Happy Holidays!

I love lighthouses too. I bought a little one with wind chimes underneath the last time we were in Ventura, it hangs on my dressing mirror at the moment but will sortly be re-located to the new shelves in the kitchen....to tinkle in the breeze from the pation door when its open in the summer.

He did a wonderful job on the lighthouse. One of my best friends is a lighthouse lover so I'm always on the lookout for them.

Your home looks so organized and well-thought out.

That lighthouse is wonderful! Your hubbie did an excellent job.

You asked about the snow in my header pictures - that was from last March 1st. But yes we are getting snow here right now. We are suppose to get 4-8 inches today and 1-3 more inches tonight. It is the perfect Christmas snow!

Merry Christmas! Call or email when you come back to NC...

Oh my goodness - your husband did a fabulous job on painting the light house. I love the way it looks in your home -the black stripes on the light house really ties in with your black kitchen counters - very classic and lovely.
Wishing you and your family a wonderful Christmas.
Blessings,
Erin

Hi Diane,
I am so glad you answered my question with pictures and showed the photo that inspired your lovely man to paint it.
I have a seaside theme in my spare room, one of these days I will get round to photographing it.
Please do link with your fabric when you've done "working some more in" (had a wee giggle at that comment). Thanks for switching blogs, I just couldn't keep up with the two and still manage all the other websites for the girls.
Warmest hugs,
Sandi @ Bearly Sane

Hi Diane, WOW what a wonderful job your hubby did with the lighthouse. It looks fabulous. All your accents are just perfect. Great pic of the inspiration lighthouse. The walls are a gorgeous shade of blue too.
It looks like you both had fun.

Have a wonderful Christmas!

Love the light house. (Great job, Ron.) When I saw the light house in the original photo, I thought it might be something propped against the wall. Clearly, I was not thinking creatively. hee hee

Snow is on the way, and it is cold here.

Love the lighthouse your husband painted. I have a thing for lighthouses. We sometimes plan our vacations around touring them. The St. Augustine lighthouse was the first one that I ever went to when I was 16...and have loved them ever since.
Thank you for the wonderful comment that you left me on my blog. It was a dose of sunshine on this cold cloudy day in Ohio.
Happy Holidays,
Cindy

Wonderful! I really thought it was one of those kind that you buy and stick to your wall. He's a wonderful artist! I love the blue wall too. That's my favorite color. I'm jealous of your weather, it's 24 degrees here right now, brrr. Enjoy your weekend! Twyla

What a talented hubby you have! He did a wonderful likeness of the inspiration photo. Leisurely blue--I love the names they come up with for paint.

I love it, and must say that Hubby did a wonderful job on the lighthouse. It reminds me of the Assateague Light House in Chincoteague, Virginia. A Coast Guard maintained light. Great job sir.
