New Beginnings!

I love the start of a New Year! I feel like anything is possible and I look forward to each challenge and opportunity!

My hubby and I started a New Years tradition a few years ago when we started spending Christmas and New Years in Florida. We toast the New Year standing in front of our house looking out at fireworks in the distance.....and then we go for a midnight walk! (we live in a gated community so it’s fun and safe) This year it was 72 degrees! PERFECT!

Earlier we ate outside in our courtyard. What a beautiful evening!

Even though we got to bed late, we woke up ready to tackle some projects around the house. I think that would pretty much describe December! lol

My hubby put new shelving up in our closet when we moved here but after using it for a few years, he could see some improvements that would help.

So this is our new walk in closet

clean and organized for the new year!

And if it looks like there’s a lot of stuff in there....there IS! Another quick pic of the ceiling! Our closet in Florida is air conditioned. Even though I’ve lived in the south most of my life, this was new to me!

This morning we saw 5 hawks overhead. I think they are migrating south because of the bitter cold temps in the US right now!

Hope your new year is off to a good start! ENJOY the weekend!

Reading this makes me want to go organize a closet. Say, I have a question for you...why are you showing up on my blogroll as "Happy Holidays" instead of "Lavender Dreams"?

Your dinner looks so cozy, and your closet so clean!
Tonight my husband and I are going to a steakhouse--hopefully mine will taste as good as yours looks.
Happy New Year!

Great tradition even though I am jealous of the temperatures. We still are in a deep freeze, alternating between snow showers and wind.

Love the closet. I still believe you should encourage Ron to become a "rent a hubby." I could sure use someone to upgrade my closet. :-)

Enjoy your weekend.

That is precisely what we've been trying to do. Get the closet organized. Strangely enough, he's the clothes horse and vast buyer of shoes around here. I'm a plain sort of gal when it comes to fashion. I hate to shop in clothing and shoe stores. But he can't stop. So off we went to the Salvation Army today with loads more of his clothing to dispense of. I think it must be oozing out of the woodwork! In a month or two, we'll be taking more.

Closets organized, for me ... DH never! no matter how hard I try.

Love the hawk ...

Neat traditions you have started. I should think of something special ... maybe a good resolution?

Happy New Year! May your year bring beauty, joy & blessings ...

That midnight walk in 72 degree weather sounds great to me. It is currently freezing here. I have 2 sweaters on and I'm still cold. Hard to believe I once lived in Michigan. LOL.
Your organized closet looks like a wonderful way to start the new year. Mine is in need of some organizing. I have been putting it off for months. I think I feel a new year's resolution coming on.
Enjoy the rest of your stay in Florida and Happy New Year to you and your hubby.

Diane,
I was just looking at your old photos of you when you were a little girl and I swear that I can show you photos of me that are almost identical to the ones you have here. I am sure that it is just a sign of the times and the era that those were taken but its almost like they were taken in the same place. I am going to go threw my old photos and see if I can show you.
Hope your new year is off to a good start. Mine has been very nice so far as my husband has been off for since Thursday afternoon and we have spent every hour together. A good start.

Great minds think alike, I'm over in Fairyland days doing the laundry and you are organizing the closet. We live on opposite corners of the USA but where connected in the heart! Happy beautiful Sunday...watch out for hawks...I'm watching out for hawks here too, don't want them to swoop down on my pups!

Great attitude! Happy New Year! I hope it's a blessing filled, prosperous year for you and your family!

I'm SO jealous of your organized closets! Mine are a disaster!!! Something to put on the "to do list" for the New Year, I suppose!
