Let's visit Micanopy!

After we spent the day at Cross Creek,

Some of the movie, Cross Creek was set in Micanopy. Another movie shot here was Doc Hollywood featuring Michael J. Fox. We want to watch that again soon, too! (And yes I take photos out my side window going 60 mph! lol)

Let me crop myself out now....heehee! Ahhh...much better!

Kim at the Daisy Cottage has done some wonderful posts on Micanopy and there's even a link to her blog on the Welcome to Micanopy website!

And the very best store of all was The Shop !

So many amazing things made with shells!

DSCN6524

I couldn't see everything...

DSCN6525

the shop is so full of treasures!

I bought this precious little metal bird...

and hope to go back when I am in the shopping mood!

This is all I bought...I must have been VERY tired! lol

He's been hopping all over the house....

I love that little town! If I knew you were going there I would have told you to look for a really COLORFUL house near the edge of town....she has a mosaic sign I made hanging on her fence....

Here is a link to it:

There's nothing like those wonderfully beach little shops in Florida, is there?! Can't get enough of them to be sure. Those shell encrusted treasures are just breathtaking. I would'ave bought them all to take home! :)

Enjoying your blog and will be joyfully following!

Hugs ~

Thank you for the tour, what a gorgeous drive to a fabulous place. Thanks for the links too, I just clicked on there and saw the lovely things. I love shells, and what better place to find treasures made with them than Florida.

I've seen pictures here and there of that little town. Maybe even in Southern Living. Looks like so much fun!

I have never been to Florida . I just never thought about it. I have now. You have opened my eyes to what a treasure it is. Speaking of treasure the seashells in the shop are gorgeous. I would have wanted everything. I loved the seashell wreath. I think I will make one !!!

I've been through Micanopy, but have never spent the day there. Mt. Dora is another one of those lovely little Florida towns with shops! And as much as I know about my home state... I never knew that's where Doc Holiday was filmed! Go figure!

That looks like a wonderful visit to a quaint town. I didn't know such existed in Florida. I take pictures at 60mph, too, but not like those. Wow!

I love your little bird and I have one simular that I found in an antique shop in AZ. I later discovered that its head twists off and you can hide a little something inside.
