Summer begins TODAY!

I love Mondays…I love June…and I REALLY LOVE SUMMER! It’s my favorite time of the year!

DSCN6830

I’ve been off the computer for a few days so now I have the fun of visiting all of my favorite blogs and those that are participating in Where Women Create to find some new favorites! I always enjoy getting back online and catching up with all of YOUR fun!

DSCN6836

We’ve been taking advantage of the beautiful weather to go on little day trips…we call them adventures!

DSCN6835

This was one of our best sitings….a huge Great Blue Heron.

DSCN6793

He posed and I just kept taking photos! heehee!

DSCN6800

We drove out to the Gulf coast to eat fresh Grouper and hushpuppies and to view some wildlife.  (we did NOT eat one of these! lol)

DSCN6806

This was the first time to visit the Crystal River Archaeological State Park  and it was very interesting. Follow this link for more info at Wikipedia !

We enjoyed the museum and when I looked at my photos…

I realized I took a lot of the beads…

pendants….

and pottery!

The things that I love!

DSCN6843

We even ‘heard’ an alligator in this swampy area but I was glad we didn’t actually SEE him! He was crunching and munching on a meal of oysters!

The view was fabulous from the top of this Indian mound

and there were lots of boats on the water!

Hope you are enjoying the start of the summer! How is your Monday so far? Share some of your news with me! What did I miss?

PS I’ll answer Jemm’s question here on my post! It was 98 degrees on this beautiful day in Florida with LOTS of humidity! We went to the mall after this! heeheehee! We must be crazy!

Oh, gosh, it looks so pretty there. I love herons. They are one of my favorite birds. We have some that are usually fishing at our creek.

Is it hot there in the summer? I like summer too, but not the heat and humidity. I really do melt :)

Your comment about hearing the alligator makes me wonder what they sound like...gruesome? ;>

Beautiful photos as always, my dear!

Wonderful photos, thank you for sharing them. The Beads were interesting, I could spend hours in the Gem room at the Natural History Museum. Visit me this sat for a giveaway with A fanciful twist's Mad tea Party, bye for now.

Great photos! I enjoyed taking the trip along with you. The Great Blue Heron reminds me of the Egrets that we get in our creek. They both have tall legs and long beaks. :0)

Wow! I love that blue heron. We have a lot of them here and I love watching them fly overhead. Glad you got out and had an "adventure!"

Hooray for summer! We had a gorgeous day here yesterday. I am loving all your photos but especially the Heron. They sure can stand still can't they? How wonderful that you got so close! xxoo

I don't mind the heat that much it is the humidity that makes it so much worse. Thanks for taking us with you on your little adventure. I love seeing the Florida scenery. I lived in Florida for a few years when I was growing up and my dad lives in Destin now. I have always loved coastal areas. We have a great blue heron here in Ga. at our pond that visits quite frequently.

Oh, I don't know how you stand the heat. (I'm not standing the over 100 degree each day plus humidity well here.) But what I'd give to be able to walk along the shore and pick out my very own seashells!
