A swan dance?

I took these photos yesterday at the park!

DSCN7710

I saw this one first in the pond…or what’s left of the pond! It is so low and mossy that it doesn’t even look like a pond.

DSCN7712

But there are still ducks, herons, killdeer and this beautiful Great Egret!

DSCN7720

When I got to Cane Creek to walk on that part of the trail, I saw another Great Egret…this one smaller!

DSCN7732

But then it flew to the pond and we started the Swan dance…

DSCN7739

Such beauty…

and grace!

It was AMAZING! And right where I stood to watch was this beautiful Red Cardinal flower blooming in the wild!

So here’s a flower for you my friends!  I hope you’ve had a wonderful day!

You journal about nature in the most beautiful way.
I'm glad you enjoyed the book and yes the ending was sad. I spent a long time online reading about the Tudors after that. It's an interesting history--so full of scandal!

Diane, you've been getting the best shots lately! You must be a good photographer. I usually have to have Lindsey take my pictures because I am too shakey. I hope you have a wonderful week! Twyla

Hi! I just stopped by your blog and was delighted to see that you were from NC and I loved the egret pictures you posted. We just returned from vacation on the Outer Banks and really love NC. I was lucky enough to get some egret pictures of my own while there.

Thanks for visiting my blog and posting my giveaway on yours!

Oh Diane, how lucky to be in the right place at the right time. I have seen cranes do the similar dance routine and it is just so awesome to watch. You do seem to be getting some wonderful photography in this summer. I think you should think about framing some of them and maybe even entering an art show. Your photos are really supreme, and I think you should get recognition for your artistry.
Hugs to you my friend.
