What a difference a day makes!

We went to ‘Art on Main’ on Saturday afternoon and it was perfect! The temperature was 72 and we enjoyed the Art, pottery, unique jewelry, and sculptures! But we weren’t really in a ‘shopping’ mood! We just enjoyed seeing all of the beautiful Art and meeting some of the artists. We’ve bought a lot of our art locally so we always enjoy seeing Artists that we know, too!

Merchandaise

But today….we went back! It was 57 degrees, overcast, with wind!  BRRrrr….!  What a difference! But we had thought about some of the things we saw, so we went back to buy a few things! (these were free…from nature!)

Our main purchase was this vase made by Kelsey Schissel.

Her website is Plays in Mud ! I love her quote…

“Welcome to the Plays in Mud pottery studio, where

thoughts of functionality

simple designs

smooth surfaces and

minimalist textures come together to create

purposeful

calm

quiet and

elegant vessels,

all while having fun, smiling, joking,

laughing and playing in mud.

Smile at life. Be happy.”

I also purchased these hand dyed papers!

Aren’t they gorgeous?

Last weekend I bought this hand dyed yarn. Aren’t the colors beautiful?

I’m not sure what I will make but right now I am enjoying displaying them in this bowl next to my computer! I love being surrounded by things I love, don’t you?

What do you have next to your computer? Enjoy your afternoon!

I love beautiful yarn too. Your looks so pretty sitting in the bowl. Sitting on one side of my computer is my sweet yellow canary named Sunny. Sunny keeps me company when I am in here on the computer. And on the other side of the computer is my sewing table. I have a new "woman cave" complete with sewing table, computer cabinet, couch, chair and ottoman, TV and bookshelves. I love my new room. Looking forward to seeing you at Penny's. Love your pottery piece that you bought. I think fall has finally arrived. It is cooler here too. Love & blessings from NC!

I love those colors! I like to crochet so what I would do is combine the gray with the purple and make a cool shawls or hat.

I would combine the yellow and orange and make another shawl. I usually never use just a single yarn only because I need to work with more color - that's why I combine :-)

What's by my computer? Tons of paint fan decks

I never made it to Hendersonville this weekend. We spent the weekend working in our yard. Cold, windy and all!

Love your vase, paper and yarn.....

Next to my computer is a bunch of papers, measuring tape, sciccors, pen, phone and day planner. It is quite the mess. Hopefully I will have it cleaned up before the blogger brunch!
Hugs,
Penny

I have a laptop and a recliner so my husband made a lap desk and I love it. It goes across both arms of the chair and has a cutout for parts of my body that sticks out....My lamp and candy corn is nearby also.

We missed the Art Fair- was helping a friend learn how to sell on ebay. Love what you picked up.

I too enjoy hand made. Supporting local artists is wonderful.
My home spun yarn sits by my desk....
Happy October.

I think that I need something more beautiful next to my computer after seeing your lovely bowl of yarn. What beautiful papers! That's quite a temperature change and about the same drop that we experienced...brrr...

Sounds like you had a lot of fun! Your yarn is beautiful. I especially like the purple one! When it's too chilly for you up there, come back down to Florida. The humidity has dropped off and the weather is perfect!

Such pretty things you found at the art fair. The bowl of yarn looks so lovely for fall.
Next to my computer is a photo of my mom, sister and me and usually a cup of coffee.

It was in the 50's and rained all day! I stayed in my bed under my blanket a little longer this morning and read a book. I love lazy days from time to time!

The papers, vase and yarns you bought are all very pretty!

I love arts and craft shows. The one in Blowing Rock was so nice. I bet some of the same artists were in Hendersonville. That yarn is absolutely scrumptious!
