"A day trip to Cedar Key"

It's been 'cooler' than normal here in Florida

but on the day before Christmas it was in the 60s....

collage

and we drove to the Gulf Coast

and spent the day in Cedar Key.

We always enjoy our visits there....

So gorgeous on the beach, and the weather must be such a treat after some of the cold weather we have had. Love the touches of purple in your mosaic...mermaids in purple...of course!

Sounds like you had a wonderful day. It's been cold and raining here all day so it was nice to see some beautiful blue skies. Thanks for sharing.

Since it's gotten warmer here a little north of Florida, I guess it is warmer there too. I enjoy viewing your photos and mosaic and love your header! Have a good new year!

We heard, earlier in the week, about the terribly cold weather Florida was getting. I'm glad it's changing back to normal for you now!

Warmer weather, the beach and sand.....sure beats shoveling snow!
We haven't had to shovel since before Christmas but there's more on the way as it snowed all day today.
Happy New Year to you.

What a pretty place!!
We went on vacation to the gulf...gosh, it's been 18 years ago, but I don't believe we went to Cedar Key. My best/close childhood friend recently moved to FL and we hope to go down to visit this coming summer.

I wish I could come walk by the sea in temps in the 70's. We are supposed to be in the mid fifties here this week so that will be a good warm up. Such pretty pics.

I love Cedar Key. My cousin used to own a shop out there for 16 years so it was a regular stop for me. The drive out is beautiful as well. Looks like y'all had a great day.

Take good care,

Wow! 70's! Wish I was in your neck of the woods...we are having snow flurries tonight, but it will melt tomorrow, and be clear and cold...I look forward to warmer days!

We love doing lunch or dinner at Cedar key! I love the quaintness of the little town, and the shops are so cool. The dolphins were definitely a bonus. I love watching them play!

Delightful mosaics... The blues are so calming as is that still water with hardly a ripple. Glad that things are warming up in Florida where people expect sun and plenty of it.

Wow, so pretty and warm!! Though we didn't get our white Christmas after all, and still haven't had measurable snow, it's been quite cold. What a getaway your world looks like :) Happy New Year!

I'm glad it's warmed up for you there in Florida, Diane! I always worry about the citrus groves down there when it gets close to going below freezing.

My family and I visited Florida last summer, and I knew as soon as I set foot outside of the airport that I would one day be living there. Your pictures only reinforce that thought. Beautiful! And if I wasn't convinced before, the sight of the dolphins woudl have sealed the deal.

A visit to the beach is always so relaxing! On one visit to FL I remember watching the dolphins swimming while we were having dinner in a restaurant. Nice photos!

Happy New Year!
