A Date with a Deer!

We were ready to leave the Manatee State Park

and look who was waiting at our vehicle!

DSCN3857

I kept taking photos and moving closer...

DSCN3858

and closer!

 DSCN3859

And my hubby was the ‘deer whisperer’!

DSCN3846

He kept talking to this little yearling

so that I could take photos!

DSCN3852

This little guy finally said, ENOUGH!

And then as we were leaving the park, we saw 2 more

cross the road in front of our car.

He did NOT like the hot pavement!

Deer are small here in Florida!

Do you see them where you live?

Great photos and they really are small in Florida. We have deer here, of course, but not down in the populated areas.

Our back woods is full of deer and they are gorgeous, but make a salad bar out of our gardens. Darling pics.

Living in rural Ohio we have deer galore, have even had them in our back yard. One got hit on the road in front of our home a few years back. I hated to see that. They can be both good and bad, but then so are we for invading their territory :(

You take the best photos, Diane! That young deer is so sweet. And yes, we have a LOT of deer here in Southwestern Ohio, and they are BIG! We have a herd of about 8 or 9 that regularly visit our neighborhood. They love to lay in my neighbor's backyard and drive Noah nuts! They also sleep under our big pine trees when it's very snowy or really hot out. And I have to say that they don't usually eat my plants - except for the flowers that bloom on my hostas, and I don't mind that. They also drink from my birdbath on a regular basis. :o)

XOXO,

Cyndi

Gorgeous photos!!! You husband is a good "whisperer." Even though we live in town, we see deer occasionally. They're beautiful!!!

Awesome photos! I showed them to my 10 yr old son and he loved them. I live in Wisconsin out in the country. LOTS of deer! We just discovered over the weekend that deer are coming right in our back yard and going through the garden. We bought one of those cameras that you mount to the trees that people use in the woods. We got some great pictures of the deer at night!

Thanks for sharing the pictures. We have deer around our yard much of the year, but for some reason I have only seen a fawn once....too cute

Quite often we see them, though not usually in the yard. (There was an exception last summer that I wrote about.) I love that picture of the skip and hop across the parking lot.

I never see them around here, but when I lived in California they would come down mountain and munch on my raspberries and blackberries. It's okay, there were plenty for all to share. Funny, because it was a highly populated area.

Okay, you can be the boss of me, lol.

Lucky you! I'd much rather see them in a park than where I usually see them - in my gardens!:(

Thanks for visiting.

You and your husband worked well to get great photos of this little deer.
We see them around here, but luckily not in our yard.

What a beautiful creature and how lucky you were to get such great photos! I live in the city so I don't get much of a chance to see deer!

Good close up photos. We have plenty of deer here in Ohio. In fact I live on a farm with two ponds and lots of woods and I feed them and we do not hunt our deer. The deer wait for me to put feed in the feeder and if I don't then they come up to the house and look for me. I am all about preserving nature and animals.

We do... sometimes we even see them on the golf course just across the road from our place ...so beautiful. Love their little faces.... you got some great shots.... oh, don't even want to say that word....great pics....

Great photos Diane! You were so close. Your hubby really is a deer whisperer! The deer here are so small compared to the ones out west! People here also count all of the tips on the antlers, instead of just one side. Out west a 6 point buck would be a 12 point buck here!

Great photos of the deer!! Yes, we see lots of deer here where I live. We have to be careful around the farm fields as they will run out of the fields and across the road in front of you.
Hope you are having a great week.
hugs,
Cindy

Hello Diane! I live the city so I don't really see such beautiful animals everyday. But I admire your pictures. Great shots, enough to give me a breather of the typical view of the city. ;) have a great day my friend!

Oh, the deer pictures are precious. We also are in FL and live in a very wooded, protected area, so you could say "we live with the deer".

They come up on our front steps to eat my potted Impatient flowers, just the flowers not the greens. Love it.

WOW! You took some really nice photo's. My mom is a huge deer lover. We see Deer all the Time in Southern Maryland near where my mom lives. They do not have many places to go sense they are cutting down all the trees to build Town Houses. It is really sad to see the Deer wondering around or hit by cars.

Oh my, great pictures! We just saw three in the woods behind our backyard yesterday, as a matter of fact. There are wild deer that live in the woods throughout this subdivision. I keep telling DH that we need to position a salt lick near one of our windows so that I can get some good pics, LOL!

Deer run through our neighbourhood all the time, as well as moose and coyotes - oh, and rabbits the size of deer. Well, maybe not THAT big, but pretty big. We live in an acreage subdivision that is actually quite close to town. I go to work very early in the mornings and this week I saw a moose, two coyotes, two deer and a rabbit. Not all on one day, but all in the same week. I just LOVE your blog, by the way. Wanda in Edmonton
