I was watching You've Got Mail today and Meg Ryan handed a little girl a hankie to which she asked "what's that". I have always loved handkerchiefs and yours make a fun mosaic!

Such a fun mosaic with your little hankies. I was given one like them in a swap I joined, and it is a real treasure. Such a nice post today.

Those hankies bring back memories. Too bad women don't carry them anymore.

Sewing is a wonderful pasttime, and almost becoming a lost art. Keep it up, and show up what you have created when you are done.

I LOVE the hankies! My maternal grandma always had one or two in her apron pockets. She's been deceased for many years, but I still have some of those hankies. They've been placed in a drawer for so long, but I finally decided how to enjoy and display them...put them in frames and make a wall arrangement! And, Oh My Gosh...Nurse Nancy!! I HAD that little Golden Book! Such nostalgia just went through me! Thanks for sharing! :)

How cute are those hankies!!!! I have some that belonged to my grandmother and my mother that I just treasure.

AND, of course, you had the perfect little book to go with them.

I'm so glad to read that you're having a wonderful time being creative and making fabulous things, that is a great way to while away the hours. Sounds like you're like me, once I get started I don't want to stop. Enjoy!

I think the book "Nurse Nancy" was one of the ones that influenced me to want to be an RN when I grew up, Diane! Your book is in wonderful condition! I still have my childhood book and the cover is falling off from use..lol. I also liked reading the Cherry Ames nurse series when I was in my early teens.

Glad you are having fun with sewing projects--I look forward to seeing them on your blog when they are finished.

Love all your hankies! I cannot wait to see what you have been sewing! I have some of my grandmother's hankies and I am trying to come up with ways to display them when I get my bedroom done. I love vintage linens and see no sense in having them if they are not going to be used and/or displayed.

I adore vintage hankies
They remind me of my great aunt jenny.
She always had one tucked in her chair cushions...she just passed away this November and my mom just got two of her hankies to send me.
I will cherish them always.
Great post.

Love the dolls and hankies. Have you seen the book called Hankie Couture? It's all pictures of fashion doll dresses made from hankies and I believe it includes a pattern. I just ordered the book from the library and it's on the way to me. Just thought it might interest you.

Lovely dolls, I love them too but I don't have much of them (yet). Kisses from Spain.
