Hunting for treasures? Let’s go to New Visions!

I have a really good place to ‘HUNT’!

New Visions Marketplace is close enough to stop at whenever I am out and about…

DSCN5812

and you never know what you will find when you shop!

DSCN5813

There’s always something ‘new’…

DSCN5815

or something you didn’t see when you walked through the last time!

 DSCN5821

I have a few things in mind to look for when I shop!

DSCN5816

And one of those is Children’s books….

and most especially old school books!

These are a few in my collection!

And the old briefcase is my hubby’s…he still uses it! The pencil case is an old cedar box!

Colorado Lady has a wonderful post HERE with some of the books she found this week! And my girlfriend at Back 2Vintage has a post HERE and HERE with some wonderful school books!

They sure bring back fond memories for me! I enjoyed elementary school and loved to read…and learn!

School begins here in about a week. Did you look forward to school starting?

Looks like a special place! We have a few of those places here in Bardstown, but I seem to never find anything good! You're so lucky!

Hello Diane, yes I looked forward to school starting I remember I cried every summer when it let out LOL. When I was real young you could find me hiding out with a flashlight in my closet reading, I walked to the library in the summer and brought books home to read. When my folks would want to go to town for the day, we lived in a small town and they went to the big one to grocery shop etc. I would always throw a fit and tell them I would stay in my closet by myself LOL

Love old school primers they are great
And what a sweet little shop, I wish there were shops close enough for me to go to here.

Hi Diane,
Yes, I actually did look forward to school starting each year. I have one of my mom's old school books that I keep out on display...I love books!!
Isn't it fun to have a thrift shop so close to home. I have 3 within about 15 minutes from where I live and I try to stop in them every chance I get.
Have a great weekend.
hugs,
Cindy

Some years I did look forward to school, others not so much, Diane. Love that little shop ... what a great coke cooler.

Would you be so kind to leave a comment on my BLOG ONLY, for the Miracle Makeover fund drive. Charlie, 8 yr. old, & his story are fabulous. Every comment brings us a $1 for the next person that will be sponsored.

Have a beautiful weekend.

I love the old books. You are so lucky to live in NC!! They are such great places like this one. We have a few, but none so great. We have a new one opening not far from the house, so I cannot wait to check it out, but will probably take a while to get geared up. I will let you know!

I love your old reading books...I loved school, especially reading. How schools teach reading has changed so much. I remember my fourth grade teacher taking us outside under a big tree and reading a couple chapters each afternoon, it was my favorite part of the school day.

That does look like a fun place to do some browsing and dreaming.
I was at a fun church school sale today with lots of older childrens books and only a quarter a piece. I wished I could carry more!
