Fall decorating just got MORE FUN!!!

We have an island in the kitchen here in our condo that separates the kitchen from the living room.

DSCN6473

It creates a small ‘wall’ on the living room side that we knew we didn’t need for bar stools…(this is another small wall on the end that will give you an idea of what I mean…since I forgot to take a ‘before’ photo! lol)…

DSCN6715

so my husband found the perfect little shelf unit for me to use to display seasonal things!

DSCN6713

He brought out my boxes of Fall items

DSCN6710

and I looked around for some of my old books and vintage items to fill the cubbies!

DSCN6711

It sure was fun to make little vignettes for Fall!

DSCN6709

Do you have a space in your house that could use some shelves?

DSCN6714

We bought these at Walmart for $29.97!! You can’t beat that!

Diane, I love the cubbies. So cute, and so much better than a boring, plain back of an island. I like all your fall goodies in it, too!

Definitely looks like Fall over here. And what a thoughtful husband. I gathered all my seashells up yesterday and will replace with Fall. I can't find my acorns I collected last year. :(

I love your kitchen and love the island too. I even spotted the little mouse I sent you. How awesome is that. I love the red in the kitchen. My kitchen has a lot of barn reds in it too. Of course Red is my signature color. Well, at least I have a lot of it in my home.

You must have a very sweet hubby to make a place to showcase your pretty fall things. That looks like a very good spot for them. The books look great with the pumpkins and other things. Shannon

Hi Di
I love the squirrel also ! I've never seen on so cute there has been a little bunny out under my bird feeder about all afternoon and I'm so afraid he is going to get carried off by a hawk ...they are always scouting the area for a meal,,it is making me so afraid for him. I've never seen a rabbit hang around so long just to eat seeds on the ground. Happy fall time decorating you have a lovely display !

Do I recognize the painting there? Hmmm...looks something like one I now have. It does look quite autumnal, too.

That shelving is a good way for you to display some of your autumn treasures. I love reading the old reading primers in September. Some of those graphics scream autumn.
