Jekyll Island ‘Mosaic Monday’

How about a walk on the beach...

24Sept-1

to see what we can see!

DSCN6861

We enjoyed a little side trip to Jekyll Island

DSCN6857

on our way to our home in Florida!

It’s not a beach for seashells...

there aren’t very many!

DSCN6823

But there are sand dollars...lots of them!

 DSCN6880

Many of them are alive so we just take photos and leave them where they are!

DSCN6824

There were several horseshoe crabs this time!

DSCN6878

They were big and scary! lol

DSCN6877

My hubby’s toes go into this photo and it shows

how BIG the horseshoe crabs were! (thanks honey!)

DSCN6868

I’m joining Mary at the dear little red house

for Mosaic Monday!

DSCN6866

It’s great to be back in Florida!

It’s sunny and warm and I LOVE IT!

And if my friends think that I’ve flipped and written TWO Mosaic Mondays tonight...they would be partly right! I wasn’t sure if I would be back online this soon so I scheduled the one about fruit! I just forgot to tell myself that I did! heeheehee! So I’m twice as much fun tonight AND tomorrow!

I think I’ll go lie down now.....

What’s the weather like at your house?

What wonderful photographs! I've not seen a sand dollar in years and years! Thanks for sharing! Sunny and warm sounds nice. Our weather is hot here in Texas, 97 today. WE NEED RAIN too!

What a beautiful, and peaceful looking beach! I'm going to have to check out your Jekyll Island one of these days! I think that horseshoe crab may be bigger than my skeleton of one...I'll have to compare. Great pics, and I love sand dollars!
Big Hugs!

Hello name mate! That horse shoe crab scared me hahahaha
And I love seeing beach posts from you. The beaches you show are my ideal one, quiet, serene and less people. Everything shows tranquility and relaxation.

You must be so happy to be in your winter home! I love the thought of sun, sand and surf in the winter time - we have two out of three here all winter!

Your pictures made me so happy! I didn't get to spend much time on the beach this summer but you really captured the essence...love the horseshoe crab.

The beach looks much like VA Beach where we were 2 weeks ago. Love seeing the dunes again and the little birds. Such a peaceful and lovely spot. So many sand dollars. Know you had a wonderful visit. genie

Oh what a beautiful beach! I have never seen a sand dollar "in person" -- very lovely! Thanks for sharing (twice!) at MM. And don't worry -- I forget things constantly!!! ;) xoxo

Jekyll Island is truly beautiful (it has been about 15 yrs since we visited and glad not many changes)
Your images are beautiful and how kind of you to leave the sand-dollars behind and let life continue.

If you could see the dry landscape around me right now, you would know just how much I appreciated the walk along the beach with you today ... even if it was just a virtual walk. Fabulous photos!

Oh, you're making me miss the beach. But we'll be there in 2 weeks ... so I'll just enjoy these photos of yours!

We also see horshoe crabs along the beaches up here. They look so prehistoric!

I wish I was on that beach right now. It looks lovely. That is, all but that big crab. He looks a bit, crabby. I have never seen that kind. He really was a big one.
p.s. I finally sent you the pattern for the Fall quilt. Hope you enjoy it.

Great dunes and beach. Looks like you had it to yourselves that day. I will be wanting some of your Florida sun in a while as it is getting cooler here now. V

Beautiful pictures! I love sand dollars... but don't love people who collect live shells...Thank you for not doing this and mentioning it in your post! It's an overcast morning here in Pasco!

Hi Diane, great pictures! Good to have you back with us in Florida.

I want some of the little white pumpkins myself. Are they called Jack-Be-Littles? Not sure.
