Over the River and through the woods...to the Seashore!

We spent the day at the Canaveral National Seashore

and started a new tradition!

DSCN9759

This is my very favorite beach to pick up shells!

DSCN9770

You have to wear shoes to walk on the beach....

DSCN9793

it’s solid shells!

We didn’t have big plans for Christmas so we got up early and packed a picnic lunch and headed to the beach!

DSCN9768

The temps were in the 80s but it felt cooler walking on the beach or IN the water!

DSCN9765

And it was the perfect day! And the biggest surprise?

We saw several coconuts washed up on shore!

DSCN9787

We saw a colorful sunset, then settled back to listen to holiday music and enjoy the Christmas lights on the way home.

DSCN9797

A perfect day....a new tradition!

Thanks for all of the sweet Christmas greetings!

Did you have a wonderful day, too?

Imagine all the crafting options with a beach full of seashells! Looks like a lovely way to spend Christmas with your husband. Our house is a mess of toys and boxes. I'm going savor my extra large cup coffee before the organizing frenzy begins.

Christmas hugs!

Love your new header!! Looks like a great new Christmas tradition. I'd love to be strolling on a beach right now. My house is a huge after Christmas mess, but I'm not motivated enough to do anything about it yet. I am off to the gym tho!

It was actually a great beach day for gathering here but I had company coming and couldn't slip away.It was sunny and upper 40's but for Christmas in Indiana, that was warm!

Beautiful share ... so peaceful & beautiful.

The hardest thing I ever had to do was live in the tropics for 3 years ... it was not a fun Christmas with no snow or cold ... just what we are used to.

Happy New Year

Wow, that's beautiful and looks like so much fun! Glad you had a nice day. We did too. Our weather has been mild and warm in the sun so we can enjoy the doors open during the day. I'm trying to just enjoy the moment and not let myself stress too much over boxing up stuff for our move.

Oh, this sounds like a great thing to do for Christmas! Glad you had a wonderful day! We only live about two blocks from the beach but I don't go down there very often although I see it every day when I get out in the car! :)
Hope you got lots of those sea shells! ;)

Thanks for sharing the beach with us, Diane! We had a great Christmas here. My husband's Uncle got out of the hospital and was able to join us at my in-laws, so we felt really blessed.
When you get a minute you have to stop by my blog and see the really cool vintage Florida souvenir pieces that my Mother in-law got for my collection. (I think you're the only person I know who will really appreciate them! hehehe). Have a great week :)

So glad you had a wonderful Christmas. I can't even IMAGINE walking in the ocean on Christmas day, although I DID swim in the gulf on New Year's Day once. Always thought that was so cool! LOL! Love your new tradition! ~~Annie

By the sea - what a lovely way to spend Christmas day. our weather was the warmest it's been in 50 years or more around here but there was still snow on the fields. All the best for the rest of the holiday season - Florida style!

Wow, beautiful beach!! I could send some of my snow your way... Just let me know! lol...

What a wonderful "new" tradition!! The beach is good anytime of the year and those coconuts were a net thing to see. Makes you wonder where they came from?? It gives the imagination all kinds of possibilities.
Warm new Year's Blessings
