“Seashells and deer”

I enjoyed decorating my foyer with a

simple arrangement of my deer collection...

and a few shells here and there for a ‘Florida’ touch!

You don’t think of deer and seashells together but last year when we spent a few days on Jekyll Island, GA we got up early to see the sunrise and saw deer on the beach! I was too shocked to take a photo! And as soon as they saw us they were off through the dunes. But it was a sight I will never forget!

Do you have any deer in your Christmas decor this year?

love the deer decor sea shells are wonderful too. Makes me think of a spring break I took with my mom one year when I was a high school-er and I longed for sun and adventure ! we had so much fun together. we put streaks in each others hair and got all toasty on the beach !

I do have deer! And I just picked up (in my favorite antique store) a little deer just like the one on the lower right side of your table. So sweet! I live in the Midwest and our decor is very different. :D Merry Christmas!

Oh dear, your deer are so precious! I love deer although I know they can be bothersome to some people. We live on a golf course and a few can be spotted every now and then. That is a surprise that the men enjoy, too. We have a small deer in the center of our front door wreath. Your vignette is very pretty on top of that gorgeous chest. Enjoy your weekend!-------- Shannon

I like how you recreated the scene that you missed with your camera. Very cool.

It must have been strange to see the deer on the beach. In our neighborhood wire deer lawn ornaments are now lit and keep with the season. :)

Yes, we do! Live ones out in the yard! Although, this time of year we don't see them as often as in the dead of winter. That's when they get all the apples they missed during the summer and fall! Your display is wonderful!

No reindeer in my decorations but I have some wooly sheep. Wow, deer on the beach. I don't wonder you were shocked. So for you to remember and put the deer and shells together I think is especially cute and clever.
They look lovely.
Merry Christmas

That's a handsome bureau. Have you had it long? And yes, I do have a deer in my Christmas decor, a largish gold one that came as part of the wrapping on gift. I decided it would make a great tree ornament too.

Hi Diane,

No deer in my house - I love them in your house with the sea shells- very charming. How special that you saw them on the beach and they inspired your decorations.

I added sea shells with my Snowmen this year and loved the look.
Christmas Blessings to you and your family.

Ya know, I never really thought about deer on the beach. But why not? I bet that was a sight to see. wonder if they get sand in their hooves? lol! I have one deer outside that lights up and some vintage ones under a cloche. I think that might be it. Have plenty of them that wander into my little neck of the woods. I never tire of seeing them. Have a wonderful Christmas.

I love your deer collection. That must have been a beautiful sight seeing the deer on the beach. I love how you have mixed the deer with the seashells and starfish because nature mixes things all the time...and it's always a wonderous sight. Beautiful!
