A ‘Beachy’ Mosaic! (and shell ID)

I took everything out of my kitchen window

BeachWindow-001

cleaned it and then rearranged it just a bit.

I love having lots of my favorite shells and a few tiny boats

47DSCN9989

and cutesy beach things to enjoy in the kitchen.

And here’s something for those of you that love seashells.

DSCN9821

The last time we were on the beach here in Florida,

I found this tiny shell and haven’t been able to identify it.

It’s 3/4 of an inch long and has these distinct marks on it.

DSCN9821

I think I might know what it is but I’m not sure.

Is it a variation, I wonder? It’s the only one I found.

I’m joining Mary at the dear little red house

for Mosaic Monday! I hope you will, too!

Living on the plains of West Texas, with a large body of water hundreds of miles away from us, I don't know one single thing about sea shells. :))
Glad you enjoy them.

What a beautiful collection. I really like the way you've displayed the shells and sea glass in those pretty jars.

Love what you've done! I keep shells and beachy things in my kitchen window, too!

As for the shell ID...it looks like a kittens paw. The size is right, and I do have some gray, and some white ones. None like this, though. It's very unique! What a great find!
Hugs!

I love seashells, too but I have to buy mine at the craft store and that is not the same fun as picking them up one by one on a beautiful warm beach. Boo hoo. I really like the chunks of colored glass or whatever that is in one of the jars. Those colors of blue, white and green are beautiful together. Have a wonderful Sunday, dear friend.--

What a beautiful display! I could use some "shell therapy" to get me through the next couple of months :). That last shell is very unusual. xo

I dreamed last night that I was in sunny Florida only to awaken in cold snowy Ohio. I pulled the covers up over my head!

That is a very unusual shell.

Wonderful reminders of the ocean! That last shell is most unusual. Please do share what it is, once it is identified.

I miss the ocean....and thanks for showing me hints of it. I needed to see that today. Its really cold outside, and there is a wind chill of - freezing, LOL.

Glad to hear that you are going to be part of Brenda's series. I am so looking forward to it.

What a gorgeous windowsill you have to display shells in! Love your collection. That shell is unique but I bet someone will know what it is. I'm going to fix a shell shelf...not as good as a window but will make me happy! hugs, Linda

What a lovely place for your vignettes. I can remember visiting the beach when I was a kid and picking up so many shells that I had dreams of picking up seashells!

I love your beachy decor! Sure makes me wish I had sand between my toes. Super warm here, but no beach, darn!

The shell looks to be a fossil shell of some sort? I'm going to post a picture on the i Love Shelling facebook page & see if we can get some info for you. Love your displays! Looks like my house. xo

The little boats look so cute with the shells. I wonder what kind of shell that is, I've never seen one with markings like that. My Ashley has the shells we've collected from our Cape Cod beaches. When I was at her house the other day I noticed that she has little specials rocks lined up on her window sill like your shell display. Cute.

Susan

Your collection is wonderful. Even just the thought of shells and seaglass takes me right to the beach. You also have a wonderful window for displaying your collection.
I also wanted to tell you that your red quilt is very pretty. I loved all the suggestions...pillow, throw, table top, etc. I use a lot of my quilts on the table and I love them. Enjoy your new treasure.
I hope you are having a great weekend.
