“Friends” for Mosaic Monday

I was thinking about how much my friends mean to me this week. Remember how we took little Valentines to school to give to our very best girlfriends (and sometimes even to a BOY!) ?

CardsVal

Whenever I show a photo of my lanai, you can see something that I keep close to me all the time.

I call it my treasure box.

DSCN0517

It’s filled with little notes, letters, tags and cards from my blog buddies. I love to open my box and look through it from time to time….it’s a ‘feel good’ thing!

And when I found these neat collage frames, I put some of my treasures in frames to hang over my desk for inspiration.

Blogging has given me a chance to have lots of girlfriends again…like I did when I was in school.

What a blessing you ALL are to me!

I’m joining Mary at the dear little red house

for Mosaic Monday! I hope you’ll join us, too!

I am taking part in “A Month of Letters”,too.

Happy Valentine’s Day to you all!

This winter I purchased two large decorated boxes, one to store my "treasures" in. The other box is for those other treasures - knitting needles and crochet hooks. :) Those are pretty collage frames.

Hello there name mate! I love letters. I also keep those that I have received ever since I was in High School. It's always great to feel the warm wishes and words other people gave you. Everything is so priceless.

Of course, I would want to receive an card from you. It would be a great honor and source of happiness.

I remember those old fashioned valentines we used to give out at school. Its a shame the practice seems to be disappearing. I suppose its so the less popular children aren't left feeling left out.

What a lovely way to display your treasures. I agree with you about blogging - it's opened up a whole new world of friends from all over - from Vancouver to Malaysia, Australia to Belgium and back. I particularly love connecting with other Canadian bloggers like you.

A wonderful idea and great inspiration. It just makes your day to receive a kind word or a email hug. I remember when the boys were younger and we spent the evening taking the little valentines out of the package and addressing them to their class mates. V

I love treasures boxes of all kinds...I have even found some old treasure boxes over the years...bits and pieces saved from times gone by...Sometimes discarded in the end after their owners have passed away. Sad things can mean so much to some and so little to others...Guess,its the sentiment in the things that makes them so special :)

Blessings on your Valentines day dear Diane.

I was thinking about that very thing when I got the chicken valentine :) I was thinking how everyone used to sign with initials in numbers to match the alphabet A-Z + 1-26. I often wonder if kids all over did that or if it was a local thing.
