If you ever meet me in person…

and we sit down to talk, the conversation will eventually get around to healthy living! I love to talk about nutrition and exercise…rest and relaxation! I read every article I can find and for the most part I ‘practice what I preach’!

DSCN0092

(I look goofy in this photo but it was the quickest one I could find…taking a Zumba class this week!)

I’ve enjoyed Kim’s blog, Snug Harbor Bay for a long time and I was always happy when she featured Tony’s Tips.

(she says this is her son, but she looks too young to be the mom so you go over and see for yourself! I thought he was her brother!)

And now I am pleased to announce he has his own blog,

Tony’s Nutrition and Fitness Tips.

Misc 134

He has done his ‘homework’ and writes from his own experiences AND from information he gathers. Everything he talks about is easy to understand and to put into practice! These are changes we can make to be healthier! Be sure and read ‘his story’, too so that you can understand where he’s coming from.

I’m going to keep this short and skip all of the ‘tips’ I could share to give you a chance to visit his blog!

What a great way to start the month! Find some positive tips on his blog and put them into practice in your own daily life! You’ll be glad you did…and feel better for the effort!

Do you need to lose weight or maintain your weight? Do you  need to get more exercise and sleep better at night? Could you do better with your food choices? What areas of healthy living are you most interested in?

PS If you want to receive a card or note from me this month, go to my post HERE and let me know!

Thanks for the links! Do you like Zumba? It looks like fun but I'm afraid to try! Staying healthy is a big part of my life, it's a challenge to me now with as with this pregnancy I'm supposed to be taking it easy. Not exercising makes me a little cranky!

We should not be surprised that people know so little about good nutrition, considering the fact that we've been told for a few decades to focus our diet on grains and stay away from fat. And the result? America became obese and ridden with Type 2 Diabetes. Always great to hear of helpful nutrition tips. Keep up the good work!

You and I could have a great conversation as I have always been interested in nutrition. You look happy and healthy at your Zumba class.
Thanks for the link. How neat to read a nutrition/health blog written by a young man.

Great links and yes to all your questions! But then, I'm working on better habits. Just not fair that the older we get the more we have to exercise and the less we get to eat!

I have heard about Zumba (get up too early any day of the week and there's an infommercial). Yesterday I checked out the Basics video at our library to see if I would like this. When I read your post I went in and got started. Ouch! I've got lots of work ahead of me. May have to find a more gentle exercise video. Thanks for the inspiration.

I am a big fan of Kim and Tony. I admire her spirit of adventure, and I'm amazed at Tony's adult attitude and maturity. He is one smart kid!

Hello Diane!
I think it's great that you featured Tony's Tips on your blog! I can tell you and your readers that Tony is the real deal! In my profession I deal with nutrition extensively and I am constantly surprised at the "on target" knowledge and advice that Tony offers consistently. He is not only a living example of what proper eating and exercise can do for you, he is passionate about helping others! I am his biggest fan and follow his blog and read everything! I even learn a few things myself from him and to think he's only 18 or 19 years old! he has a huge future!
Anyway, you have a great blog here that just got better! keep up the great work!
