I need some Aromatherapy!

And I need help finding some!

PCDSCN1490

I want to buy a set of Essential oils...just a small set to get started.

It would be to use in a tub of hot water, or to add to a candle or some potpourri.

Mostly I want to experiment with scents in my bath or even add to a tiny bit to unscented lotion or cream.

Do any of you buy Essential oils? Do you find them on Etsy or Amazon?

I’m feeling some stress lately and thought this might give me a boost....an aromatherapy treatment!

(the flower in my post is Columbine, it’s in my flower bed here in NC)

Hi. My daughter trained in aromatherapy. You do have to be careful of the oils you combine but there are a lot of books on Amazon so that you can learn what you need. When you do get the hang of what, where and how...it's wonderful!, good luck! Sending warm and loving hugs your way. Joan

Hi Miss Lavender Dreams,

You're stressed? Well, do you want me to come out for a visit? Oh, wait - Mom says you want LESS stress in your life. Now I get it, I'll stay home. Giggle.

We both think you should check out Etsy first. We like the handmade, personal touch, and you'll find it on Etsy. (o:

I buy essential oils at my local health food store. She has a wonderful selection. I used to make homemade soaps, and they were wonderful in soap.

I have seen essential oils on Etsy, but our local health food store has them, too. It used to be called Mother Earth, but they have changed the name. I was just there last week and can't remember for the life of me!

That columbine is gorgeous!

Feel better dear friend! Relax, de-stress, and unwind...ahhhhh

I love lavender and how fitting. I have to say though I have never used the oils...just beads, and bubble bath.

I have ordered some great ones (although kind of price-y) from "Young Living". But they last a good long while and I am secure in the products from this company. A fellow blogging buddy, Ahrisha, is a rep for them and I learned about them from her blog "Joyously Living Life". xo

I've experimented with a few essential oils. I use clove oil for toothaches, until I can get to the dentist. I also have made a natural mosquito repellent using lemongrass, citronella and rosemary oils in unscented lotion. I make it every year with those pesky 'squitters' come out!

I recently spotted these sweet Columbine flowers in a dear friends garden...I fell in love with them and asked her what they were called. I plan to plant some of my own. I have seen essential oils at Hobby Lobby before..you may check there if there is one close by. Blessings dear friend.

Young Living is the best I hear, cause its very pure. I have a couple from there that really help my moods - wintergreen is my fav! Lavender would be perfect for stress though :)

this is where I buy..always buy 100 percent pure essential oils. I am experimenting with a few. This site is a really good one to go to telling what each one will do. Rosemary was one I bought..be sure to mix oils with a carrier oil if using on skin. Once a week I mix 3 tablespoons of grapeseed oil with 20 drops rosemarry and apply to my hair once a week.it is known to promote hair growth and is also good for sore muscles. Here's a secret...I am using the same oil on my husband's thinning hair..will let everyone know if it stimulates hair growth.
I have also bought some from Amazon and the aroma was not as intense as the oils from the link below
http://www.100pureessentialoils.com/

I have a Rosemary bush in the yard and I picked a bunch a week ago - put in the blender with enough grapeseed oil to fill a pine jar - has to set 2 weeks and then strain through cheesecloth.
You will know you are getting pure essential oil, when you start researching, by the price
I buy grapeseed oil at Walmart, it's there with the veg and canola oils. Another good carrier oil is sweet almond. The grapeseed is absorbed by the skin faster than olive oil or almond oil.

San Francisco Herb Company has been a reliable source for quality essential oils for many years. They have good prices too! http://www.sfherb.com/

Your columbine is beautiful. They are one of my favourite flowers. You can get essential oils at your local health food store. I buy lavender all the time and add it to my bath. I also use vinegar and water to clean and I put a couple of drops of the lavender oil in it to make everything smell wonderful. Happy Sunday ;-)

I do believe in the power of aromatherapy and keep a bottle of (yes) lavender essential oil by my bed. Every night I put some on my pillowcase. I swear it helps me sleep better.

I buy them at a natural path store.I used to spray mint on my sons pillow because he was a little hyper and the Dr. said mint helps with that. Also gave him mint gum all the time. lol.My favorite scent for the house is orange. I used to spray the house all of the time. Just a few drops of the oil in a large spray bottle does it.

I studied aromatherapy long time ago and I am a strong believer in it. Go to a health store to find the purest. Lavender sachets by your pillow are good for sleeping too.
Have a nice week.

I like young living- they have a nice starter pack. The oils are great quality. You can usually find them on eBay for a decent price. Get a room diffuser to really benefit from the oils. I love all the citrus for everyday. I always carry a bottle of peppermint in my purse for a pick-me-up.

BONJOUR!!!! It is so nice to see your comment today! I am very much in tuned to this NEED...My absolute favorite SCENT that brings the most PEACE of mind is LAVENDER! But I have no particular brand that I use. I just use any essential oil I can find at WHOLE FOODS. I put a drop in a spray bottle with water and spritz it on my sheets and pillowcase. I have an old but quite lovely bunch of lavender flowers in my kitchen and when I go in that particular spot, I can smell it. BUT THE MOST EFFECT USE I have had from lavender is lavender tea. Go online and see if you can find PURE LAVENDER tea. You will fall asleep immediately!!!!!

I know, I lives are full of stresses. I literally had to stay home from work today, on my birthday and with a STOMACH ACHE to get the rest I so need.

Thanks for coming over! Anita

I also recommend Young Living. I've been buying through them for years. Their oils are pure and medicinal grade. They last forever too. They have a getting started with oils kit... full of what you need. Let me know if you want to chat about it. Good luck either way!
