Biltmore Village “Mosaic Monday”

We drove over to Biltmore Village to buy bagels at Bruegger’s and decided to walk around a bit. It was a quiet morning because it had just rained.

BiltmoreV

The shops are all so unique and beautiful.

I left my hubby in a Fishing outfitters store and walked next door to Lilly Pulitzer to ‘browse’. I didn’t buy anything! I think all of the consignment shops have spoiled the fun of seeing jeans that are $150 and knit tops that are around $100. But I was tempted by one of the cute journals and some of the ‘less’ expensive bags. It’s just fun to look, don’t you think? (is he looking for ME?)

I made my mosaic in Picassa and then took it to Picmonkey for a few effects.

PMBiltmoreV

I couldn’t decide which one I liked best!

I’m joining my friend and name mate, Diane

for Beautiful Sunday.

And Mary at the dear little red house

for Mosaic Monday.

Have you window shopped lately?

Great photos. I know- I have a hard time paying REAL prices for things anymore, too. Plus, I have so much STUFF that I have cut way back on spending. I love Biltmore village but have never been there--would love to see it myself! xo Diana

Oh WOW, Diane, what a beautiful place...and I love how you went shopping while your husband was looking for fishing stuff...that's what I do, too! lol (There's some big store in Florida that's got clothes, so when we go, I'm at one side of the store while he's looking at tackle.)

I love historic buildings, and you have captured them beautifully.

Yes, things are expensive, seems no matter where you go...my prices haven't gone up, although my costs have, hmmmm wonder who is making all that money, lol.

That is a sweet little shopping area! Ah, we need to run over to Asheville sometime and have a little fun. Thanks for the reminder! And thanks for the mosaics!

Yes I did some window shopping when I was staying with my mother in Torquay...there was a lot that I liked but not a lot that I could afford!! Have a lovely Sunday.

(Only online. I don't enjoy window shopping much anymore and I don't enjoy actual shopping at all. I'd prefer to go to the flea markets or shop online once I've got my choices figured out. I don't know...tee shirts at a hundred dollars in this economy would probably be too upsetting.)

I think he is looking for you!

Love seeing these sweet shops and I like the layers you used in Pic Mon for Mosaic Monday.

Oh that looks like a wonderful place to 'window shop.' I do like your mosaic arrangement for the Biltmore Village. :-)

Hope you're having a restful day. ♥

Now that looks like a beautiful place to visit. Lots of interesting buildings...and I guess some nice landscapes. Windowing shopping can be fun. Sometimes I see something in a store/shop and when I get it home I realize I really didn't need or even really want it. I have learned to think things over and not impulse buy. But that sure looks like a wonderful outing!

What a beautiful place to shop and spend the day!

I know what you mean about paying "full" price for clothes anymore. Not that I ever have but if I do wander into say JJill I am taken aback by the prices. I find JJill at GoodWill sometimes. Your collage is beautiful.

Those shops look very inviting. Your photographs make a lovely mosaic. I haven't used pic monkey yet.

This looks like a lovely, quaint place to spend the afternoon. I've told you before that I'm cheap, so in general I don't shop at places where I could pay my bills. Most of the stuff doesn't look that much different than a cheaper version, so that's why I can't justify paying for it. This looks like it would be a fun place just to browse though.

Glad you had such a great weekend my friend!

Hi name mate! Thank you for joining my humble link up again :D The place looks so quiet, elegant and picture perfect. Through your great captures, the place could make it to a spread of magazine or I felt that it can be used as a setting for a romantic movie. Am I just dreaming too much? LOL

The trees, the houses and the pathways are just beautiful.

Have a great week ahead!

Hello Diane, It has been a while since I have visited anyone but I'm back. Two weeks with some blogging friends was busy. Most of the time I was with Claudie who was here from Canada. We did have a grand time together.

I love the Biltmore village and since we have annual passes we go there frequently. I too am very conditioned to thrift shopping but I love to window shop as well.

Have a wonderful week.

Hi Diane,

These are great pictures; I like what you did with the final mosaic. Biltmore Village is definitely a quaint and charming little area. I have tentative plans to tour Biltmore Estate later this summer; I'm not sure when exactly. I've only been there once, and that was over 25 years ago. We're only a few hours away, but my husband just isn't very interested in touring the house.

Thanks for sharing your photos and have a great week!

This looks like a fun place to window shop. I haven't done much of that lately, just in and out for the things I need. But it's fun to do if I'm in the mood.

I see all sorts of fun on PicMonkey but have not yet tried it out. One of these days....

Lovely! Oh I love the old LP clothing and wish that I had held on to a couple of pieces I once wore. to get them even on ebay these days, would cost a fortune. I like the top one the best. I use Picasa as well, even more than Photoshop, which I mainly use for copyright~
