I remember teaberry gum. I remember finding teaberry in the woods and chewing on it, too. What is a Swedish dishcloth? I'm intrigued.

I've been in a couple of stores like this one and find I can spend hours looking but usually only buy a few small items. To me these stores are more for entertainment than for buying. I'm curious about the Swedish dishclothes.

I've never tasted the Teaberry Gum, but the "Teaberry Shuffle" was so catchy! :) Browsing through a General Store is FuN! So many finds.

I love going to Cracker Barrel, so I can get all of my old timey favorite candies! I always liked Teaberry and Black Jack and Beemans gum. And pixie sticks and candy dots stuck to the piece of paper and you ate more of the paper than the candy. Yep, those were the good old days!

Sounds like a very useful dish cloth! I went in some stores just like that when I was visiting the USA with my family a few years ago. You could find absolutely everything. I loved it! Joan

I have never heard of these cloths. They sound wonderful. I have a sponge that I use for scrubbing the sink and I stick it in the microwave for a minute on high to kill all the germs on it. What a fun store to visit- xo Diana

The original Mast General Store in the mountains of North Carolina is a wonderful place! So fun to photograph! We have one of their stores here too in downtown Knoxville. The penny candy always calls my name, LOL!

I seen you on Sandies page so thought I would drop in to look at your home page. Very nice. I just did a sort of called Crash book pages inside for my Grandson. He can answer some questions I gave him and then put in the so called answers in the envelope I enclosed. For his privacy. His book was my first to start changing an old book of 85 pages. What a job. After two weeks. I am almost to the end. I still want to add some rope on the cover spine. So I love crafts also. I made some mini books on my page. So gald I have met another happy crafter and love your photography. I take pictures also.

I am from Canada and we had a store like this. I loved. It was called Wellan Collin. They since have sold out. My friend from Newbrunswick worked in this kind of store. Variety. She was in the section that they had sweets like cakes, bread. All the yummy pastries. She baked. In my place like this. They even had a tea place to sit and a Restaurant. Does this? Or strickly what I see. Crafts upstairs and photograpy and soaps?
