A Shy Mosaic Monday

Have you seen the Smash Journals? I’ve had time to play with mine the past couple of months and wanted to share some of the pages. (I feel a little shy showing my art and the things I’ve written so this is just a glimpse)

PMJournal-001

It was perfect timing when Marcia sent me Paris tags....

DSCN2468

and Cameron sent me a package filled with stickers, tags and cut outs.

DSCN2203

I used tags and graphics from other friends, too.

DSCN2454

I wanted it to be an ‘art journal’ but I’ve written more than I’ve sketched. But it’s a work in progress and I keep skipping around and doing a little here and there. And it’s....

PMDSCN2464

I’m joining Mary at the dear little red house

for Mosaic Monday.

And Diane at Diane Writes for Beautiful Sunday.

PMPicMonkey Collage too

(I used Picmonkey to make this collage!)

Enjoy a Happy Memorial day!

Hi Diane! Oh, this is great! You're doing a wonderful job. I really haven't heard of a smash journal before. So much to learn! :)
I am participating in a circle journal group right now and am loving it. There's 10 gals involved and we get a new journal the 1st of each month and we decorate 2 pages according to their theme and then on the 1st of the next month, mail it to the next person. We'll all get our journals back in October. I've never done anything like this before and am enjoying it so much.
Love all of your cute tags and cutouts you have. You've made a great mosaic and it all looks wonderful.
Be a sweetie,
shelia ;)

It's never to late to have a happy childhood. The world would be a better place if adults would just have playtime every day. xo

I never heard of the 'smash' thing...but your book looks awesome. I sometimes think I need another creative outlet and this might be it...can you explain what 'smash' means? Hugs, LInda

I think it's lovely so don't put yourself down again. You do what you need to do and not what 'you think' others do.

Joan

PS notice "you think" They usually don't really care what you do!!

It looks like you are having fun with your journal. We all need a creative outlet.

What a beautiful idea! These remind me of the scrapbooks the Victorian ladies kept where they filled them with memorabilia, poems, musings, etc. Lovely!

IT looks like a fun project. I wonder if it is like "altered books" or altered journals, It looks very similar except with the altered book you reuse an old book.

Nice!

I just love your Journal and the tags are so pretty. I took some pictures of my journal but I haven't posted them yet. I'm not a big talker (as you can tell from my posts) but I like to use pictures and decorations to tell my story. You have inspired me to work on mine a little more.

Hi Diane,
I love your journals, I thought I was the only one who decortated theirs like that!! Yours are very pretty.
Journal keeping is very helpful, especially during menopause! I have kept all of mine, but I wouldn't want anyone to read them.
It's a miracle my husband surrived my menopause!;) lol

Hi, Diane

Your journal is so cute! My daughter and son-in-law gave me a smash journal but I've yet to put anything in it as I keep waiting for inspiration to hit about what to put in there. Yours inspires me to get busy...

After a day of grilling and organizing my new art desk, I finally made it to your lovely page, Diane. I am absolutely honored to see my little tags here and I am so inspired by your journal. What a creative way to keep all that beauty. You do know that now this is on my to do list, don't you? :) Art is ALWAYS a work in progress. I keep most of my blogging notes and tags in a pretty photo box, but maybe I can try making a journal to go along with it too.
Love the mosaic.
Always so much fun stopping by, my friend. Enjoy the rest of this Memorial Day surrounded by peace and beauty.
Much love,
Marcia

Hello name mate! First of all sorry for the late comment here. I should have visited you earlier if not because of an out of town work.

I always appreciate your posts but this one seems to be beautiful and budding art from the heart. Enjoy the art and I'm looking forward seeing more of these in your next posts.
