Spending the day in Cedar Key!

Well, it requires more than one post!

PMDSCN8721

Our first stop was the beach....

and then we like to walk along the boardwalk.

It looks like it should be crowded but I think most everyone was enjoying the restaurants and pubs when we got there. We heard live music in several of them and most are air conditioned.

We were there to walk and enjoy the sights.

I never tire of the Gulf coast views.

PMDSCN3158

I love the sunshine and scents of the sea!

I hope you enjoy seeing this part of Florida.

How about a little ‘fixer upper’?

Looks like a fun place to visit. Someday, I'd like the girls to see an ocean. They love Lake MI but have never experienced a ocean.

{{{sifh}}}I would love to be on a beach right now! One of my favorite sounds in the world is the sound of waves crashing and sea birds in the background. Living in a mountain and desert state, one misses the salty tang of the sea air. Thank you for the lovely visit to the Gulf. =D

LOL - a fixer upper - looks more like a blower upper! Sigh. Envious of your scenery. Esp when I see mine is just my messy house, where are those left over fireworks when you need them?

Been to almost every beach in Florida, east and west, still think the Gulf side is the best. Those sunsets are unreal. Now you're really making me want to sit under that umbrella. ;) Doesn't take much for me though.
Enjoy!!!
MUAH!

The Gulf is so calm compared the the Atlantic ocean side. I love going to quaint places and taking in the sights. Looks like you had a great day.~Ames

It was 105 here yesterday. Is it cooler there? I would not be out walking here in this heat! LOL! It's been low humidity but then high fire danger so I guess we can't have it all. That town is precious and such great sights! Thanks for sharing it with us!

OMG... when i was in college at Gainesville we used to drive over to Cedar Key a lot... one of my favorite places! We would start with screwdrivers at the old Island Hotel and then stagger down to the wharf for cheap seafood dinners... do they still serve salads with green peanut butter dressing??

That area is so beautiful. We used to have a mobile in Bradenton, and loved driving up and down the coast. Was that town with the restaurants also in Cedar Key? Reminds me of Tarpon Springs.
