This really is a lovely area. I wouldn't mind a walk but if there are bears I think I'll drive instead. Have a wonderful day.

I loved my walk in the Ocala National Forest! I can't get over how green it is. I guess it stays that way all summer. Nice. By about May here (Northern California) it's all golden brown. Great mosaic!! Thanks!

You and your hubby are brave to even drive up to the sign!! I'd make a 180 and high tail it out of there! But great photos as usual and thanks for sharing. xo

That's the most unusual bear...can't be real! Is it? My eyes are not what they used to be. You sure know how to build suspense!

I don't think I'll be walking in the park with the bear...let's just stay in the car and drive around to see the sites.
Love that old truck!

He Diane

It looks lush and green. You must have been getting those daily showers.
I love how it rains for a hour or so each day during the summer in Florida and then the sun returns and blue skies.

I am sure that I would not like to run into a bear while on a hike...my in-laws live in north Jersey where they see bears in their yard every now and then...I would be terrified.

Great post Diane, but would not enjoy meeting a bear on a hike. Take care and have a great week:)

I'm always confused which blog to go to when someone leaves a comment and has more than one blog. But then, Sugar, I'm easily confused!! Nice to meet you from Idaho, chick.

A nice place for a drive; I don't know about walking in the forest though. I'm sure there's more than bears in those woods.

A friend and I, while on a road trip, spotted a bear darting across the highway. We were pretty surprise. There are deer signs in my province, but I've not spotted a bear one.

Well, I just have to agree with Maddy's comment, I would love to walk there, just not if there are bears!!! Yikes... I would have 'fun'!

Have a great day!

Those Florida roads look so nice and smooth for the most part and a pleasure to ride on. Was that a real bear? I'd love to vsit Ocala National Forest one day.

Quite an interesting ride we took there. Had no idea bears were in Florida. I love to take photos of old abandoned machinery and barns and run down shacks.

ummm...that isn't a REAL bear is it?? I loved Florida and living there was so nice. Not too fond of the heat and the bugs...those little beasts that hit the windshield and just stack up. Otherwise...love it!! :) So..how in the world have you been, Diane??

You two always have the best time don't you? Love heading out for a drive and a picnic. A favorite thing for sure. That old truck is perfect. What a great photo spot.

Wonderful photos! Do you actually have bear crossing signs there?!

I've only just seen elk crossing signs in my life...haha!

Good old Salt Springs. That's where we lived during my teenage years. Never thought I'd miss that place! We were actually just there as a family the beginning of June. Sadly I didn't get a photo of that truck! But we did visit Kerr City. And while the kids & I did not see a bear, my husband did, and we found somewhat fresh bear droppings hiking the trail to the Lake Eaton sinkhole.
