Scuffy the Tugboat” of course!

We looked out at the Gulf of Mexico a couple of days ago and saw Scuffy!

We both got as excited as a couple of kids with a new Golden Book!

I see him, but little Scuffy better take cover while Isaac threatens our beautiful shores. ;)
Sigh...how's the weather up there in central Florida? My backyard currently looks like a scene right out of Oz. Oh, I sure hope this one takes a sudden turn because we just finished all our repairs from Katrina. Isaac, go away!!! ;)

Stay safe, my friend.
XOXO's,
Marcia

How cute Diane. We seldom got The Little Golden Books unless our grandparents bought them as a birthday or Christmas gift. So I don't remember ever having read Scuffy. I do buy them for my grandchildren. I'll have to look for it.

My parents bought us a collection of books called The Best in Children's Books. They read to us from them until we could read them ourselves. I think each book had 12 different stories in them. And there were probably 15 books in the collection. By the time we were in school and was introduced to The Cat in the Hat I thought they were stupid stories and never liked them. It was hard to fathom Green Eggs ad Ham when you've already been on Gulliver's Travels.

Love your new header!~Ames

Hi Diane! So you used to live in Texas! Where?

I see you guys have been in Florida - we love going there to the beach - we've made several trips with our friends and family and kiddos. Missed it this summer and your photos take me back.

Yes, I remember Scuffy - think we had that little book somewhere along the way - thanks for your visit - have a wonderful week!

I'm sure we had that book when I was young, though it wasn't in that good condition.
And I love the shells. In 1999, after the hurricanes, we were in Jacksonville NC and I picked up a bunch of shells, had to hide them from the grands.
