Decorating ‘by accident’

Well, I was moving some things around in the lanai to make room for Fall pretties and I moved a little mesh bag of driftwood. I put it in a basket…kind of a ‘catch all’.

It’s a nice big handmade basket that a sweet lady named Fran made.

Oh, but the Flora Doora was there, too. I’ll just put the driftwood inside the Flora Doora (made by Jane at Flora Doora)

I hung it on the French doors leading to the lanai and walked by with a few Fall items to put on the baker’s rack…

and a prim crow jumped inside.

(My crow was made by Brenda from The Rusty Thimble!)

How easy was that?

Do you plan to do any decorating this weekend?

Maybe I’ll just throw some things in the air and see where they land.

Oh….you thought that was the way I decorated anyway?

HEEHEEHEE!!!

Haha. I think that's the way I decorate - throwing things into the air. :-)

I love that little crow. Isn't he cute! I don't know if I'll be doing any decorating this weekend. I'll probably start cleaning out my garden. Then again, if it rains, changing things around a bit would be a good idea. I do have some fall things that need to be out! Have a nice weekend, Diane.

I may get an autumnal vignette organised if our sunshine does not return. We have had a couple of cool, wet and windy ones.

Unexpected delights are just the way to go very often...happy accidents...serendipity... I really like the way you use things from nature to decorate your home, which is lovely and in no way looks as if you tossed things into the air.

It's still rather warm here so Fall seems so far off. This weekend I'll be doing some yard work and perhaps shop some thrift stores. Maybe I'll find something to get me into the decorating mood. I love your door decoration. Have an enjoyable weekend Diane. Hugs

Sometimes the best design comes from a accidental move. That looks so cute.

Cute as can be! I sometimes wish I could just throw it in the air and it would make cute vignettes! Hugs, Linda

You have very nice things to begin with - so if you threw it up in the air and it would land - it would all be gorgeous! lol

For me, that is the best way to decorate...generally happens when I am dusting ;).....I plan on re-decorating the front porch this weekend....went thrifting yesterday and picked up a few fall items and then it is up into the attic I go for the rest...I do more outside than inside...it is too hard to clean around all the decorations and I hate to clean house...so outside decorating it is.

I bought an old chippy painted chair today. Now, I need to find some of my bears (still in boxes in the storage room) to put in the chair! That's on the to-do list this weekend.

Perfect place for your drift wood. I sure hope to get some more fall things put out this weekend. I feel like it dragging out a bit!

So funny how one thing leads to another! Love your little crow and impressed that you're decorating for fall. I THOUGHT about it but we're having such nice weather this weekend, I didn't want to spoil it by reminding myself that it's almost over -- haha!

I love your doorknob decor. I decorate that way. Sometimes the best way to decorate is to just let things happen :)

I love your big basket and know how handy it will be for storing things. The flora doora and crow are very sweet. Your door was the perfect spot to hand them. Hope you are having a great weekend!
