I made something…with shells!

I am a shell seeker. I LOVE to walk the beach and hunt for shells. I think about it…I dream about it…one day I even drove to the ocean all by myself to walk the beach! I search for trays and containers to ‘store’ my shells and I’ve found some really neat ways to display them.

But now, I’ve actually sat down with my glue and some toothpicks and a box of tiny shells and made something pretty.

Well, first I got this candle topper at the thrift store for 25 cents and put it on top of an empty candle holder.

I placed shells all around to see how they would look and then I glued them on.

I had a few tiny pearls so I glued them here and there, too.

DSCN4723

I filled the candle holder with shells, too.

DSCN4724

So for 25 cents and a little glue (let’s not count what it costs to go to the beach and shell seek),

DSCN4725

meet my precious ‘Sea Shell Fairy’.

Have you ever made anything with seashells?

(I still have glue and a few more seashells!)

This is soooo sweet! Such a wonderful idea. She's sitting like a queen on a throne of shells. Or like Pandora, guarding her treasures from the sea. Very well done!

That is so adorable! You are so creative! I've made a "beach scape" in a large glass cannister with sand, shells, sea glass, and then a photo of a grandchild at the beach in the background. I gave each of my grandchildren one to remind them of our fun at the beach.

I sometimes purchase a crabmeat entree that is placed in shells.
Comes two to a package.
It is so good and I save the shells for art. LOl. The shells are pretty good size too about size of the palm of your hand.

You know I love shelling too. Have you been to Sanibel or Longboat Key in Sarasota? Great shelling and the sunsets are surreal.
