How cool!~ A blogging friend of mine was just sent a huge box of cotton from Alabama. Pretty cool! Yes, I like traveling back roads too, I hate the highway.

I have never seen cotton 'in the raw' as you've shown us here. How fun to have seen that, huh! And yes, I much prefer the back roads. Everything along the freeway looks pretty much the same.

I went to Mississippi once just after the cotton was harvested and was in bales. I had to jump out of the car to pick a leftover cotton boll. I so wish I could have seen those cotton covered fields! Thanks for sharing!

I would only travel the back roads if I were driving.:):) I have seen cotton in Mississippi like this. It is so interesting when you come from soybean/corn country. Smiles, Susie

Your photos are what I see our my front door and back door :)

My home is surrounded by cotton fields, and peanut fields, makes for a beautiful sight when the cotton is blooming.

Wow! I have never seen anything like that! Amazing. I never stopped to think about what the fields must look like! Amazing. I love the photo with all the cotton in the back of the truck...unbelievable! Showing this to the kids!

It's been years since I've seen fields of cotton. It is beautiful, isn't it? Thanks for bringing back some memories. Wishing you a wonderful week.

I don't think I've ever since a cotton field before...how pretty.
I would much rather travel the back roads than the interstate anyday. You see more of our great country that way.

Cindy

Yes rural Georgia is full of cotton fields and that is where we live now and rural S.C. is where I grew up. Cotton is truly a part of my life. I kind of take it for granted.

Back roads are the best roads to travel! I would love to see a cotton field one day. I saw cotton bolls at the SoBC in October and have been in love ever since. I had hoped to received some, but they never arrived :( xo

I was born in Tennessee and these back roads bring back such memories of riding in the front seat (sans seat belts back then!) between my mom and dad and seeing the cotton fields. Wonderful post!

I truly enjoy the back roads. The cotton is really lovely! When we lived in Memphis we saw a lot of cotton around the area and it was so pretty when ready to harvest!

Diane what fun to find out where our most fav fabric comes from.

I love back roads, and would willingly take them over anything else.

Thanks for such a sweet comment on my blog, I am fine, just a little sore.

First time I've seen the cotton in the fields, other than in a movie.
Living amongst the back roads, driving in a busy city is not something I do often.

We love meandering the back roads. Cotton is grown in the very southeast corner of MO, yet I've never been there at the right time to see it in the fields.

Hi there namemate! A cotton tree / plant? I've never seen one in my entire life and this post makes me wish to see one. The white cottons perfectly blend with the green scenery. Thank you for sharing this to us. Thank you also for linking up :)

What a site that must have been to see that sea of white cotton. I love to travel the back-roads. You never know what you will find.

I do hope you had a happy weekend.

It's been difficult to get gas here in NJ, and many of the roads in our town have been closed due to downed trees, so even traveling to the supermarket has been a challenge. Things are getting back to normal, though, and I'm looking forward to some country road rambles soon. :). Thanks for sharing at MM! xoxo

I have never seen cotton growing so I am sure that would be a fascinating site to see. It looks like snow on the ground from a distance. Valerie

well that is certainly something I have never seen - cotton fields - although we do have them in the far north west (or did have - I am not sure if they still grow it now). Thanks for taking me there, and for stopping by my blog today. I can't image life without a lemon tree in my back yard. Have a wonderful week.

I am 73 years old, but you have suddenly taken me back to a childhood trip where I saw the cotton fields out the window. I remember my daddy stopping and pulling off some for me. I had totally forgotten the experience until I read your post. What a treat. I just love all the photos. A way of the past still a reality. Thanks for my little trip down memory lane. genie

Thanks for sharing your photos and pretty mosaic of the cotton fields. I am really slacking this Fall - have not been out in the country side to enjoy the views. Had a trip planned to travel some beautiful areas this last weekend that fell thru. :/
Thanks for stopping by. Have a great week.

My daddy picked cotton as a young boy here in GA. I enjoyed your photos!

Seeing those fields of cotton was one of the neatest parts of our first RV trip through the South. (For native Pacific Northwesterners who never actually imagined seeing this when we read about it as children.) We went to some very interesting living museums too telling about the history and making our hearts ache. But we mustn't forget history.

What an amazing sight to see.
I've only ever seen it in the movies too, but I would love to experience it for real.
Thank goodness for blogging! I'm learning so much about life in other countries along the way.
I prefer natural fabrics and cotton is my favorite for Summer - now I'll appreciate even more!
