How we spent our summer vacation…

I mean ‘winter’ vacation!

PMDSCN6957

We spent Christmas day on the beach!

PMDSCN6966

It was beautiful and I have never seen so many shells on this particular beach!

PMDSCN6976

It was 70 degrees and perfect!

PMDSCN6974

We walked for 4 or 5 hours. (and bent over I don’t know HOW many times to pick up shells!)

PMDSCN6971

It’s a tradition we started when we moved to Florida!

We even saw a fabulous sunset on the way home!

Did you have a nice day, too?

Hi Miss Lavender Dreams,

We had a wonderful Christmas day.

Oh, is that a "Sandman" with you on the beach?

Mom & Dad are Northerners so they don't understand Christmas on a beach - A White Christmas in knee deep snow - now you're talkin'. (o:

How fun ! I have to say even though I have lived near the beach all my life, I have never gone to the beach on Christmas!

Diane,
You guys are so cute and love your tradition. 70 degrees sounds divine!! Even in Northern California it's not quite as nice right now!! I have never seen so many shells on a beach! You must have been in heaven. I can feel some projects coming on!!

It looks like you had the beach to yourselves, LOL. We had a nice, relaxing day. Had dinner at a friend's house.

What a lovely day together on the beach. It sure looks empty except for the shells. I would find 70 too chilly for the beach. Perhaps a warm breeze was blowing? Here in the North Atlantic, a 70 degree day would mean very cool breezes from the water. Thanks for taking Mr. Snowman along. I'm sure that he enjoyed the beach, too, and that way we know what time of year it is!☺

What a wonderful way to spend Christmas Day. It was relaxing here, but the rainy gloomy days are getting to be a bit old. I would welcome a bit snowfall now :)
Hugs sweet friend,

I can't imagine Christmas on the beach, but I guess in sunny Florida it would make sense. Wonderful sunset you captured. It looks like everyone had a great day and I wish you all the best in 2013.

What a wonderful day you had. I used to love to spend Christmas Day at the ocean. It seems we almost always had the beach to ourselves. Instead we stay inside-drink hot coffee-watch the deer in the woods and the idiots on the bay testing the ice by walking out as far as they dare. In a couple of weeks people will be driving on the bay. Crazy, huh? xo Diana

Your header photo is so great! Love it. Looks like a perfect (& warm & sunny!) Christmas day in Florida. We had a lovely day (although snowy/rainy) in Oregon with friends & family.

After the storm we had last night and all the shovelling I've done today, this is just taunting me! lol

Oh, Diane! Just look at all those shells! What a beachcombers paradise! I'm glad you brought your little snowman along for the day. He looks quite happy...Do you think he and Mr. Sandman might hit it off nicely?
Have a happy day, my sweet friend!

I think your Snowman's cousin lives in my home! :) My younger son's GF gave me the cutest lighted Snowman that now graces our Dining Room table.

Choosing shells while walking on the beach is just FuN!
