Mark it off the list!

Or better yet, put a neat little check mark next to it!

I decided to make a ‘wish list’

but not just any wish list!

Everyone knows now that I’m addicted to ‘thrifting’ so I decided to make a list of things I would like to find this year. And today I actually found something on my list!

ChinaIMG_0689

I hurried home and wrote to my girlfriend, Sherry from Back 2 Vintage to see what she thought. Here’s part of what she wrote me back,

“Yay, Diane!!!! You did great!

CONGRATS ON A VERY THRIFTY FIND!!!

Isn't "the hunt" a thrill????!!!”

YES IT IS!!!

 IP2Jan

I now have a beautiful set of Christmas dishes.

Staffordshire Engraving Yuletide pattern.

Enough for 4 people…PERFECT!

ChinaIMG_0691

So what else is on my list?

A vintage dollhouse, dollhouse furniture, a big old painting of a ship, an antique wooden dough bowl and pixies (they stay on the list year round! heehee)

What do you think I should add to the ‘wish list’?

I’m joining Jann for Share your cup Thursday!

I love Transferware and have a set in brown also. I'm looking for red for the holidays and have it on my wish list when I get some time to "thrift." You and Linda are definitely lucky when it comes to finding treasures...I hope some rubs off since we're Sisters! XOXO

I love your dishes!
We have similar lists, I have been collecting ship paintings (mostly whaling) and have been waiting for the perfect dough bowl forever! Maybe in 2013?
Also reading some of your old posts I saw you wrote about Sarah Plain and Tall-my favorite book of course! Recently I went to see Patricia Maclachlan give a presentation at the Univ. of CT. She was every bit as charming as I thought.
Maybe I will blog about it soon!

Kate

What a great find...they are beautiful! I went thrifting yesterday and found a few little goodies. I missed out on a huge find. The lady ahead of me at the checkout scored 7 or 8 Dickens village pieces for only $15! If only!!
Have a happy day!

Now I am not a real fan of Christmas dishes but THESE are just my style! SO if you tire of them . . . I had a wish list last year but it kept changing so much I gave up on it -- haha!

Oh what a find!! Wow, Sherry is the most knowledgeable antiquer I know! I am enamored with doll furniture too, it is always fun to be hunting for something!! I think you should do occasional sales with all of your finds. You could do them right there at your community center...Bet it would be a hit! Plus it would be fun to shop for!
