Some Thrift finds are more valued! UPDATED!

Do you ever find something that just feels more precious to you? That’s how I feel about this duck!

DuckIMG_3196

Is it valuable?

It is to me!

DuckFrIMG_3200

It just seems to fit in with my décor…

with my seashells and other vintage things.

DuckTopIMG_3195

I’m trying to be a little more discerning so that I can enjoy my home and the things I really like.

DuckFrameIMG_3199

I’m joining Time Travel Thursday ,

and Thrifty Things Friday!

Also Katherine’s Corner for Favorite Things

and Jann for Share Your Cup !

Do you have your favorite thrift finds, too?

UPDATED!!! It seems like I update my posts a lot lately. But Susie asked how old this was. I wasn’t even sure, but I turned him over and this is what I saw! Made in JAPAN! Cost…25 cents! I feel even better now! heehee!

He is really sweet. I know what you mean about practicing discernment. If we don't, valuable real estate is taken up by just stuff and not objects that really make our hearts sing. I've just released several boxes worth of those kinds of stuff from my bedroom. It's shocking to see all that I don't care about that was simply cluttering up the place. The fact is, I could probably release another two boxes' worth.

He's one of a kind...I have never seen any like this. How old is he? Wish I could thin out lots of my treasures.xoxo,Susie

I am so envious of your beach living!! I sometime just want to pack it up and move to the Keys! and I love the way you have those olive shells in that tall vase. I am going to have to do that.

I always say if you love something it really doesn't matter what its worth...you wouldn't sell it anyway!

Some things just call to you and mean so much more.

Things that are dear and precious to us have a priceless value. I know I have a lot that is not valuable to anyone but me, but to me there is no way to put a value on them. Enjoy!

Oh, he's a cutie and right at home with your other treasures.
How well I understand these types of treasures and also the need to edit from time to time. That's the beauty of thrift shops. I'd have a harder time editing if I spent full price.
When I was a kid I remember the parents talking about all the "junk" that was made in Japan. Ha ha... now if I turn something over and it says Japan I know I have found a treasure :).

Back in the 60's everything was made in Japan...now it's China. Makes me wish for the 60's. lol He is just ducky!

He may be 25 cents but he is unique and gorgeous and now well loved! I have a little plant pot that cost 20p, it sits next to my screen and is the most colourful piece of pottery I have with lots of colourful pens inside. To me it's priceless! xx

Diane...he is so sweet!! I have a thing for our feathered friends and seem to collect them. Oh no...I don't collect the real ones, but I sure do have a lot of ducks, geese, and birds sitting around my house. They are made from wood, fabric, or glass.

Cindy

Sweet little duckie...he? must be a distant cousin of my egret. :)
I know what you mean about things having a special place in your/my heart. I've been trying to clear out things that don't "speak to me" anymore and keep or buy things that bring a smile. Love your seashells, too...of course.
