Watching Storm Clouds…

We watched the mountains all day on Sunday as the rain rolled in. We did not have any bad storms just a nice soaking rain. I did not alter these photos. I cropped two of them and the rest are right out of my camera.

I hope you can see the beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains as seen from the balcony of our condo here in Western North Carolina.

At this point the clouds were so low they covered the mountains! It looked surreal!

The highest peak you see is Mt. Pisgah.

We’ve hiked to the top a number of times.

It looks daunting on a day like this!

(can you see the tower on top?)

These are all shown in order…

We went on a long hike on Saturday so a day of rest was just what we needed. I’ll share photos of the hike soon!

How was your weekend?

Good morning! I FINALLY made it over here. Those are great shots of your view. I LOVE taking pictures of clouds..AND I love the song.
I spent my weekend quietly puttering in the yard and playing with my second Fairy Garden. Really enjoyed myself.

Thank you for sharing. We reserved a chalet in Asheville for our house hunt and the owner mentioned that Hendersonville is one of THE sweetest towns, and to be sure and stop by when we are in NC.

The pictures are making us so anxious to get up there. More please!

Hugs

Majestic mountains and awesome clouds....wonderful pictures. Thanks for sharing, as I will never see something like this in person. I really enjoy seeing the country through other's eyes.

My weekend was spent working in the dungeon at work....no windows to see out of....20 hours....sad. BUT I'm glad I have a job.

Interesting to view the clouds throughout the day! We had our 1st heat wave, so it was an early walk and then enjoying the A/C. :)

What a show!! I love watching storms come in (although my view is nothing like yours!) and watching the lightening flicker across the sky. Lots of rain here . . . my yard and flowers seem to be saying (along with me) ENOUGH already!

Hi Diane,

Lovely photos of the mountains and the pretty sky.
I suppose these will be the same Blue Ridge mountains that John Denver sung about.
I spent most of my weekend painting.

Happy week

Beautiful photos!! I love seeing the clouds coming over the mountains.. We went out to the reservoir and walked a mile and a half last night...it was cloudy and the scenery over looking the dam was so pretty. Will be sharing photos of it on my blog soon.

All so beautiful. I think my favorite is the one as the clouds started to give way to sun. You live in a beautiful corner!

Gee, someone at my house got a postcard today. It was not I nor Fioré. He was tickled. =D

Those clouds are what we've had for the past month! Only, ours had tornados in them. It is bright and sunny here today. A welcome relief from all the rain and storms.

Even through the storms I can see the beauty and splendor of the mountains and of course, a lovely sunset too.

IT sure does make you think though when you see the formidable clouds...glad you were able to go for a hike!
