Buying things I don’t need..Thrift Store shopping at it’s best!

I love to shop at Thrift Stores, you might say I’m addicted! You just never know what you’ll find.

Sometimes I even find something I need, but usually it’s just fun finds.

Like this Dowdle puzzle by the Folk Artist, Eric Dowdle.

And I have started looking at items in terms of repurposing. When I bought this, I told my hubby I had bought something I’ve never bought before, a sailcloth shower curtain, in seafoam green. Wouldn’t it make some amazing pillow covers or tote bags?

I walked across the parking lot to the dollar store, bought Lavender Scented Downy and gave it a good soak.

And if you wonder where I am…I might be watching these Doris Day movies, still new in their wrappers

or cooking a dish from this neat cookbook.

(don’t worry, I won’t be smoking while I cook! I’ll do a cookbook post soon!)

“Cookhouse Eggs”

Don’t the griddle cakes look yummy?

I’m joining Thrifty Things Friday!

Also Katherine’s Corner,

Ivy and Elephants

and Jann for Share Your Cup !

Have you been thrift store shopping this week?

Get out there!

It’s FUN and a great way to reuse and recycle!

I hava a similar Martha Steward shower curtain I bought years ago at KMart. I made cushions for wicker chairs, 2 table runners and a pillow out of it. It washes up great and is has a great texture.

Hello Diane,
Back from the wild (truly) and had to laugh: we have the same cookbook! Boot Fair sales and Charity shoppes always were a favourite of mine since I married ex-RAF flyboy!
All the best (I promise to catch up with things!)

You found some good stuff! I love to collect cookbooks so it is hard for me to resist buying one or two when I go thrifting. I'm trying real hard to cut back, tho. I don't need anymore. But, I do love them so. Take care!

Great finds! I made a deal with myself that I had to stop hitting the yard sales and thrift stores until I get around to starting to sell too. I have tons and no room to bring in anything else until some is gone - but yes, I'm an addict too!

Oh my! You do the same thing I do. Go shopping at garage sales or thrift stores just for the adventure of it and because it doesn't cost and arm and a leg. I had the best time this past Saturday and haven't taken a single photo of any of it. Been lazy lately. At least about blogging. Loved this post!!

Now I will admit to buying NEW paint DROP CLOTHS/largest size to use on my DECK-bamboo rods-hang at the corners of the roofed area just like curtains..:^)
