Answers to some Questions

What is the meaning of life?

SqIMG_6481

Or maybe what is this squirrel holding in his arms?

I LOVE all of my comments and I’m so happy when someone takes enough interest to ask me a question. I’m just not always very good at remembering to answer that question. I usually think, I’ll answer it when I have more time…..not sure when that will ever happen! haha!

So here goes…..

Do I make the dolls I have? No, I buy them. I’ve shopped at a HUGE doll shop in Greensboro,NC called Doll Market and that’s where I’ve bought most of them. I also visited the Lee Middleton store and Lloyd Middleton shop and factory (when he was alive). And yes, I still have all the dolls I’ve shown on my blog over the years. I have over 100 dolls.

When do I have time to read? I read every night for 2 or 3 hours before I go to bed. And when I am reading a really good book, I pick it up and read some during the day, too.

How much did the books cost at the book sale? I bought 20 books for $13. (they were all $1 each except a few of the children’s books were 50 cents)

How many bookcases do I have? 9 large bookcases and 8 shorter bookcases.

Are the children’s books in the bookcases from my childhood? No.

Do I ever read them? Yes.

Is there a character from Toy Story on a shelf? Yes, Jessie…the cowgirl. Is that a Greek doll in the other corner of that shelf? I think it is Little Red Riding Hood.

Are the ice skates in my size? No, they are size 5…a little small for me.

Can I ice skate? OH MY NO!!! I can’t even roller skate! I just wanted the skates to put with some greenery at Christmas for decoration.

Are there places to ice skate in Florida? YES…quite a few.

How many thrift stores do I shop at? 3… but I don’t go to garage sales or estate sales.

WHEW!

If you’re still with me now. Here’s the answer to the second question. (you’ll have to figure out the first one on your own)

The squirrel is holding salt and pepper shakers.

Aren’t they cute?

($1 at Hospice thrift store)

I got the idea to do this from Nana Diana. She answered questions on her blog! But she is MUCH braver than I am. I didn’t agree to answer any and ALL questions! haha!

NutsIMG_6632

Do you think this was a fun way of answering questions or do you think I’m a little ‘nuts’?

Do you have any other questions for me?

LOL- I think you are a little "nuts" but that's what I like about you! I so wish I could have boxed up those dolls from my friend's collection and sent them to you. They went for pennies.
I think this was fun, Diane. Hmmmmm...question? Hmmmmmmm.....
How much time do you spend blogging?
That's all- I won't ask you any DEEP probing questions- I promise! xo Diana

I always enjoy finding out more about my blogging friends. I still say that if you ever made your way to MI during the winter, I'd get you on our backyard ice rink.

PS. Your squirrel salt/pepper shakers are absolutely adorable.

Well, if we all weren't a little nuts, would we really be at all interesting? Love your blog, Diane, and it was fun reading the answers to the selected questions. I agree that Diana was a bit braver than I would be too. :-) CUTE S&P shakers!

Hi Diane,
Great to get to know about you and the love of your collections!
Love the S&P shakers. I had a friend who collected shakers and I thought of her with your little squirrel.
I think in our own way we are all nuts and this is what makes life so interesting!
Enjoy your day,
Barb

I liked the Q&A session. Very fun.

I'm surprised you don't ice skate or roller skate. I would have pegged you as a skater. You seem outdoorsy and athletic.

I love to read, and resort to catalogs in bed at night if I don't have the next good book to start on.

What a great concept, this question and answer thing. Dare I try it?...lol...

I have the squirrel and acorns, salt and peppers. I bought them at Cracker Barrel about three years ago. I always think they're so cute for Fall, but I don't know where I put mine. Guess I'd better start looking. Have a good week.
