Literary Friday “Book Sale Books”

Our local library started their Fall Book Sale yesterday and I was in line when it opened.

It’s always so much fun to look through hundreds of books, with dozens of people.

We have a BIG coffee table so I thought I would spread my ‘new’ books out to see.

I still managed to miss a couple. (I got 3 Janet Evanovich books that are already on the shelf)

And I bought 2 books that I am taking back! lol

So do you think I checked out a book to read this next week? Of course I did!

My blog buddy, Laura at I’m so Vintage mentioned this author a few days ago and I wanted to read it next. Thanks girlfriend for the recommendation.

And here’s a sneak peek at the pumpkin I made.

It just doesn’t look right to me and I’m not going to cut my velvet until I figure out a better way to make one!

I’m joining Ricki Jill for Literary Friday

and Anything Blue Friday.

What do you think?

And what are you reading this week?

Good choices! I love the Mike Mulligan book! Your pumpkin maybe needs more stuffing? It actually looks cute in a shabby chic way!

Love book sales! I have that same Nancy/Hardy Boys book. It's pretty fun! Maybe your pumpkin needs glitter-- LOL.

Oh you got Martha Stewart Christmas! That one still inspires me every year. I think you really got a nice haul. Care to say for how much? I know that it all goes to a great cause.

Library book sales are the best! You help your self to wonderful literature and you help them with your purchases. I am rather drawn to the vintage books. No Kindle for me. Keep working on the pumpkin.

Diane...you find the best books. What a wonderful collection you are getting. I'm reading "The Best of Me" by Nicholas Sparks right now. I think your pumpkin looks good...and I think that an old brooch would look great on it.

Cindy

great books I work in a used bookstore and I have several customers ask for Louise Penny, We do not have one so next time at the library I will have to ask.
I am reading a hundred summers by beatriz Williams. So far so good and it is centered on New England in 1938.

Love all your book finds. Question of the day. Is it ever possible to have too many books? I think not. Hope you enjoy Louise Penny. I just love her books. xo Laura

You got some really nice books. I do like your pumpkin but I see what you mean. It needs a little more pumpkinny detail.

Some great finds at the book sale. Our library has a Friends of the Library store right as you enter the library and they sell all the items weeded from the shelves. It is a great place to browse.
I started a new author a couple of weeks ago and just got 2 more books in the series. I really enjoy series where you can get to know the characters and the setting.

Lots of great books Diane. I like the pumpkin. But then, I like things that are a bit unusual. The little bit different shape makes it fun!

My heart felt kind of happy when I saw Mike Mulligan amongst your finds. I used to love that book so much. Love that you buy children's story books. I am reading a book on my Kindle that I borrowed from the library. My first attempt at borrowing via Kindle. I can't remember the name of it now as I haven't had a minute to sit and read it!!! I need to MAKE time! Ann

I love books and book sales! Since I have an ereader I try not to buy too many, but I have to buy some....especially the old, children's books. Books are so cheap at the thrift store too. you have a great blog, I'll be back.

Look at all these wonderful books! When I was younger, they used to have a library that was set up as a trailer right by my house, and it was such a thrill getting new books to read. Your little white pumpkin is sweet. I've been seeing a lot of white pumpkins lately for Fall.

Have a wonderful weekend.
