Photography Challenge “Windows and Doors”

We went for a drive on Sunday and I was keeping my eyes open for ‘doors’ and ‘windows’ when I hit the jackpot! We were almost back home when we drove through Williston, Florida and saw this old downtown street. (right across from the Ivy House which is the best place to eat in Florida!)

So we pulled into the parking lot and I got out and took a few photos. And I really mean…a few photos.

IMG_6201

I’m going to show you just about all of the photos I took. (I still went over the limit for the challenge!)

And I chose to take only one of them to Picmonkey to play with different effects.

BlueDoors2IMG_6212

This was my FAVORITE,

BlueDoorsLomoIMG_6212

the blue doors to Citizens Bank.

I think one of the keys to good photos is good light.

And here in Florida we have the brightest, most sunshiny days, the very best for taking photos outdoors.

I’m sending my best wishes to Donna and Jim…keeping them in my prayers this week.

Thanks for the challenge.

I found a street full of doors and windows to share!

I’m taking part in Donna’s photo challenge

and Weekend Reflections

and Anything Blue Friday.

I love the old downtown areas, don’t you? It always makes me wonder what was in all of these old stores.

This is the the tile on the floor just as you walk through the blue doors on the corner of the street. What memories old timers must have of this downtown street.

I thought the photo challenge was for Sept. 27th Diane. You might be a week early. :) You really lucked out finding this block of doors and windows though. The one you focused on is so old and chippy and a pretty blue. Rather sad looking. Is that an antique store next door? I hope you have a great weekend! Hugs. Pam

Those are amazing old doors and windows. I really love to go through old towns just to see the facades of the buildings and wonder what was what. It is sad to see so many wonderful old buildings abandoned, isn't it? xo Diana

It makes me a little sad to see these old places abandoned but your photos are excellent. I love the door that says "Open - Come in" ☺

Oh my goodness, this are awesome! Your last words struck a chord with me. I wonder the same thing about what is inside, what it was like in the past. I wonder that about old vacant houses. I wish it were okay to explore; your curiosity can drive you mad sometimes!!!!!! :)

Thank you for sharing your beautiful talent! Love it!

Oh I love those old doors with the blue paint peeling - GREAT photo, with the shadow and all. I also love the tiled Citizens Bank floor. I hope they never get rid of that. I just love visiting old towns and seeing those old tiled floors intact. Thanks for sharing these! -Dawn @ We Call It Junkin

goodness - I have never heard of this old town- Williston. Isn't it a treasure when you find "old Florida!!" Would love to hear why they painted the door blue like that. We have lost so many of our old Fla. and Ga. small town squares due to Wall Marts being built on the outside of town. Doesn't look like much is going on here - sadly!

Don't these old doors and windows tell stories. Love the bathroom redo. I need to something with mine. You give me ideas.

You found a great place for a photo shoot! Be still my heart, that chippy paint set of doors is the bomb! With ornate class and even a big old chain in the door handles! I think I would have been photographing bits and pieces of that for a good 15 minutes, LOL. Wonderful job, sweetie, including the special effects!

Have you tried any of the other free photo imaging sites that Donna lists on her sidebar?
