A Controversial Subject “Warning”!

I usually don’t post about controversial subjects on my blog.

FoxIMG_7033

(not controversial…the fox we saw at the State Park last weekend)

I don’t discuss politics….I pray for our country and our leaders.

I don’t mention religion even though I have strong beliefs…I pray every day.

But I just have to mix it up just a little on my blog today and say….

HOW BOUT THEM COWBOYS?!

I even looked up the correct spelling of this phrase.

Here’s the definition in the Urban Dictionary,

1. how bout them cowboys?!

“What Dallas Cowboys fans say after the Cowboys win a game, make the playoffs, win the superbowl, or especially beat them Eagles.”

So now look what I MADE!!!

Pillow2IMG_7308

Throw pillows for our recliners!

(I bought 3 panels for 25 cents at the thrift store)

PillowIMG_7307

Now we can recline in comfort while we watch the games. Well, actually I jump up and down quite a bit when I watch. How could you raise four sons in Texas without being a big fan? I’ve been a Cowboy fan since the ‘60s….WOW! That dates me! haha

FoxIMG_7035

(one more fox photo, he’s cute and NOT controversial!)

I’m joining Thrifty Things Friday!

Also Katherine’s Corner,

Ivy and Elephants and

Jann for Share Your Cup

and Home Sweet Home.

So I know this is going to touch some nerves and raise some controversy. But go ahead and comment!

Tell me if you like football as much as I do and what team you root for. I won’t hold it against you….I promise! And you never know….maybe I’ll make some more ‘team pillows’!

Oh, Miss Lavender Dreams, your posts are always warm and friendly. So what if you talk about your favorite football team, it makes life interesting and fun.

We aren't football fans here, and that's okay, there are lots of other sports that we like.

Heaps of Hugs
Prudence ♥

Love the pictures of Foxy.

We are total football freaks in our house. Our days and nights revolve around the NFL. My team allegiance floats depending on the quarterback and coaches. This year - it's all Peyton Manning and Denver!!

Diane, you're so funny. I can't imagine football being controversial, but maybe I don't know the right people! I'm not a huge fan, but have thought that someday I might enjoy getting into it. Have a blessed day, dear friend! Twyla

I am a dyed in the wool Seattle Seahawks fan since they joined the league as an expansion team in 1977 but I certainly do cheer your great thrift find!

I like college ball better than pros. But this is about the Cowboys...my grandson Korey has loved them since he was about 5. Once he conned papaw Teddy into buying him an Emmett Kelly trashcan($8.00) Korey had 5 dollars and need a bit more.Ted mentioned that to Korey when he was home last...it touched our hearts when Korey said, "I still have that trashcan !!" Korey's 25 now.
Love your bargain pillows.what a deal. I let Ted read your post yesterday...he says thank you so much and your followers for the kind words. xoxo,Susie

Love football!!! Sunday, Monday, and Thursday are football days here in Hartwood. I will say that I'm a bit disappointed with your choice of team, said the rabid Redskins fan ... just kidding. Anyone who roots for their team, no matter what team, is a football friend of mine!

How do you feel about hockey? That's my second favorite sport.

Sorry, not a football fan, but I do like your beautiful fox! My grandfather was a fox rancher in his early days (the 40's)...

LOL... I knew it wouldn't be a serious controversy. Wise woman :-)

My husband loves the cowboys, has since he was a boy. I am a Patriots fan. And so it goes....

I had to laugh when I realized your "controversial" subject was football. I was expecting animal rights or some deep thing. HA! Love it!

Girl, I'm from Texas (since 1969) but have never been a Cowboy's fan. Being from Houston, you can understand that. We first had the Houston Oilers, which are now the Tennessee Titans, and now we have the Texans, which are starting to really embarrass us every week. But ... we're still fans of the team, just not fans of the coach, nor a few of the players.

Love your pillow, by the way.

I loved football when all my boys played during their HS days, but not so much these days. Nowadays, I follow hockey a bit too much.
Hmmmm...could it be that this old docile woman has a secret thing for big hits?!

You know we'll what they say about politics and religion, but it seems that football has found it's way, too. Here it's all about the Broncos.

Unless we're talking New England Patriots, I don't have much of a clue. And, who am I kidding? Unless the Pats are in the playoffs, I still don't have a clue. I'm just happy that you're happy! Love the pillow. Cute little fox...we just had a rabid fox in our neighborhood...that's another subject altogether. Keep having fun!

Yay! The fox is here:)
Cute photo..
I used to watch football all the time
There was even a particular pair of
Shoes I wouldn't wear on Sundays
Or some Monday nights..
They were cursed I tell you!
I was even lucky enough to travel
To see a home game.. And my team won!!

I don't know what happened though.
Still root for the team but don't ever watch anymore:(
I can tell you though
Watching them go to the Super Bowl
Back to back was awesome!

Your pillow is great⭐

You crack me up Sis! Oh my, so funny and SO controversial! I do watch football but seem to be more into college ball since living in Athens home to the University of Georgia Bulldogs! I sometimes watch the Falcons but have never been a huge fan! Enjoy those pillows!

Cute pillows, Diane! And I haven't any team of any kind. When I was a teen, I was crazy about baseball and could have told you the batting averages of many players!

That fox looks like the one I saw the other day. And from a distance, it looked like a tiny horse - until I got right up to it, slowed way down, and waited for it to finally dart across the road into the ditch. :-)

But I guess it does for people who love their teams.

Yes, Diane, I also try to not mention religion or politics either. NFL football, I really don't have a favorite team. As far as NCAA football, though, I do root for and even sometimes do mention my own alma mater: Ole Miss (University of Mississippi). 'Love the fox photos :)

Oh goodness, 'forgot to say how pretty your Dallas Cowboys pillows are. And what a great bargain on the fabric :)

Good Morning Diane, Well, I read your first paragraph and I thought, oh dear, are foxes controversial in America....are they a problem.... and then I thought Cowboys.....what harm can Cowboys do.....remember I am from England so I was thinking John Wayne cowboys and then I realised you were talking about a football team and you made me laugh.
We are supporters of Newcastle United as George is a Geordie (from Newcastle) he wears the shirts, he has the hat and scarf... he just loves Newcastle United.
Thank you for putting a smile on my face..... oh yes, before I go, the pillows are fabulous.
Have a lovely weekend.
Best Wishes
