October Photo Challenge “Food”

I think this has been the hardest challenge of all. I kept taking photos of what we were preparing for dinner every night and I realized we eat a lot of dishes that look less than appetizing when photographed! heehee!

And then it happened!

I brought home the most perfect bunch of grapes I have ever seen.

IMG_6712

I washed them off and popped a couple in my mouth before I realized I should get my camera. (These first two photos are untouched, right out of the camera, taken in the lanai in bright sunshine. I think I can SEE where a couple are missing!)

So then I took them all over the house trying to get a good photo.

This one came out best I think so I added some effects.

It turned out to be FUN! Thanks Donna!

Donna has a lot of tips on photographing food and I think I need to go back and read them again.

So what’s for dinner?

GumboIMG_5624

Gumbo and it tastes better than it looks!

hahaha!

I’m taking part in Donna’s photo challenge.

I hope you had something beautiful to eat tonight!

Back when I was in college and had just bought my SLR 35mm camera, I took all sorts of artsy photos - what I thought were artsy. I have a picture of a bunch of grapes - much like yours - in a skillet in my oven! Your grapes look much better!

LOVE red grapes! Yum!

Haha, great minds think alike because I used fruit for my photo shoot too! I agree that it is difficult to make food look appetizing. Color balance and styling are critical elements!

You did terrific with those grapes. I really like how they have condensation glistening on the surface. It makes you want to reach in and grab a couple! The special effects on that one is terrific too. You're already getting ready for the next challenge (applying textures)! Well done, sweetie. Now pass me a bowl of that gumbo!

Well I think that gumbo looks yummy. The grapes in the cup look perfect. Well done my friend.

Hi Diane
It's been fun playing with our food, hasn't it? The grapes look so appetizing displayed in the first photo and then later heaped in the bowl.
Can't say I've ever had gumbo, but it sure looks tasty.

WEll LOL leftovers tonite! :)

But I am laughing because I just got a big bag of grapes from the grocery store!
( Local festival and parade tomorrow and grapes are part of the breakfast feast here prior :)

I always figure if little kids turn their noses up at big people food they will eat the fruit ( hence the grapes ! :)
