This Tops them ALL! My BEST Thrift Find!

I find a lot of fun things at the thrift stores here in Florida. And every once in awhile I hit the jackpot.

IMG_9071

Which to me, means I find something on my ‘wish list’!

IMG_9070

I love quilts and always search Etsy for redwork embroidery quilts.

My eyes lit up when I found this crib quilt at Hospice Thrift Store.

IMG_9063

But what could be better than a redwork crib quilt?

Another one the size of a lap quilt.

IMG_9067

I almost felt like…that’s it….it won’t get any better than this!

IMG_9068

But of course I’ll keep ‘hunting for treasures’.

I’m joining Thrifty Things Friday!

Also Katherine’s Corner,

Ivy and Elephants and

Jann for Share Your Cup

and Home Sweet Home.

Do you have something that stays on your wish list, something you always look for?

I have heard several bloggers mention having vintage wish lists and never really thought about it. I guess I don't have one. I think, for me, it is finding that perfect thing that I didn't even know I wanted until I found it.

Good Evening Diane, Oh my word, how exciting, you must have been over the moon to find such lovely treasures. I cannot imagine how anyone could part with the quilts. I adore redwork, I love the simplicity of the embroidery stitches, but when the blocks are stitched together they look amazing.
Enjoy your fabulous treasures.
Best Wishes
Daphne

AH what a treasure! It always amazes me when things like this are not kept in the families as precious heirlooms but then again the ones like you that DO end up with them appreciate them and the maker of them much more than whomever discarded it.
Just lovely!

Wow, I'd say you hit the jack pot. Who would donate such a beautiful quilt? It is wonderful. I don't really have a wish list--when I see that something, I know it. hehehe

I'm so glad for you!! But don't you just wonder sometimes how some things end up at a thrift store! I've found handknit baby sweaters that should be family heirlooms - lying for sale at a thrift store. Makes me sad.

How wonderful! So glad you rescued this lovely needlework, it always makes me sad to see "some poor lady's" needlework in a thrift store, as I've written about many times on my blog. I'm always looking for Pyrex & other vintage kitchen glass. That's my thing. -Dawn @ We Call It Junkin.com
-this would be most welcome at my We Call It Olde Link Up, Tues-Saturdays :)

Beautiful find! I look for vintage red and white crocheted potholders and old wooden cheese boxes at flea markets. At thrift shops, usually I'm looking for books, among other things. I've scored 3 of Susan Branch's books in the last year or so.

What a great find! I am so jealous of the thrift stores in your area. Ours are the pits. There was a LOT of work that went into that rework lap quilt, and it looks beautiful!

Isn't this quilt sweet? My sister sews quilts, and I have always thought it was such a talent. I especially love the color Red, so this made me smile.

Have a blessed Sunday.
