Where did all the Books GO? The BIG REVEAL!

I never considered myself a patient person but I must be.

IMG_6411

This PROVES it! I lived with my books in boxes for YEARS! lol

And NOW…

IMG_8830

We consider this our library and love having a library table and leather chairs to play card games…oh, and read books!

IMG_8814

We also lined the wall next to the TV with bookcases.

IMG_8816

Now I have room for collectibles and seasonal decorating, too.

IMG_8825

I am so thrilled to finally have the living room the way I want it. I’ll keep working on the decorating part of course.

IMG_8826

We put our musical instruments on top of these shelves.

IMG_8834

And if I had to pick a favorite shelf or two….it would be these.

cropIMG_7604

I won this bear ornament from Brady Bears Studio awhile back and it fit in perfectly in this special spot. I love it, Karen! Thank you!

(I’ve already changed them a bit)

I love this old telephone that my husband has had forever. And the old duck call was my Daddy’s.

I’m joining Coastal Charm ,

Brenda at the Cozy Little House,

Make it Pretty Monday

and Inspire me Tuesday.

Also Katherine’s Corner,

and Ivy and Elephants.

I can’t wait to decorate for Christmas.

Have you put holiday pretties out yet?

Do you see a book you would like to ‘check out’?

Have a fabulous day!

I admire your courage to have red sofas! And I am still amazed at the tv console found at a thrift store. You must feel very good having your books close at hand and in plain view. Happy thanksgiving.

Hooray for getting your books out of the boxes! It all looks great!

I've started decorating and already losing interest, LOL. I hope to finish up today and then give the floor a good vacuum. It's a mess now. No big tree this year again, just small ones. And 75% of the decorations are staying up in the attic storage.

Your books look fabulous, sweet friend :) And I just love the ice skates! Hugs to you!

There's nothing better than bookshelves full of great books. I like the accessories you popped in the shelves - like that phone. That's fun!

I'm debating whether to dig out the holiday decorations since we're in a rental, but the fact my grands will be here, may push me to do it. Your library looks inviting and, like you, I still like reading an actual book and not a Kindle or Nook! XOXO

I would like to come over and read. It's beautiful!!!

Fabulous! We have a room filled with books too. The fun part is to watch guests go browsing and then pick one to read, often 'borrowing' to finish when they leave to go home.

I am so happy you got bookcases! I love my books also and it's so hard not having them around. I love my bookcases and also being able to display some of my collectibles. I'm so ready to start Christmas decorations this weekend!

How nice to be able to get everything out of the boxes and on to shelves! Your room really does have a warm, cozy, library feel to it, with the red upholstery and the leather chairs. Nope, no holiday decorating here til after Thanksgiving.

And what good taste you have in furniture. I have the same bookcases and TV hutch as you do! I love it. Too bad I don't have nearly as many books though.

I love your bookcases! And I love books. I can get rid of many possessions, but the books are a little bit more difficult. I love the look of them, the feel of them, the smell of them. Oh, and I over the top, love to read them!

I am so happy for you! I have been asking for more book shelf space since we moved here ( a decade ago!) and I bought some cheap shelving I have yet to assemble myself. My extra books are piled on the stairs leading to my upstairs storage (of more books!)
Very beautifully done.

And I love the ice skates too.

Hi Diane,

Your living room truly is a lovely recreational space, perfect for reading, playing music, board games, etc., and of course, taking it easy in front of the TV! Fun and fabulous!

I've added you to my blog list, too!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Well I could easily spend the afternoon going through all your books. I like the musical instruments on top of the shelf.

And hey, I see a lot of empty wall space up over the piano where some book shelves would look great!

Happy Thanksgiving my dear friend. xo

Yes...my tree is up, but it is not decorated. I'll do a little each day over the weekend after I get home from the show each evening.

Diane,
Your book shelves look very nice. Nel would love this room, as she is a book lover herself. It looks so organized, and everything has its place. Yes, I've decorated for Christmas already. I am going to go with silver, white, and red this year. I wanted to tell you that I saw the little elves that are similar to mine at Joanne's. I don't know if you have one where you live, but I saw a lot of them there today.

Happy Thanksgiving wishes. Enjoy your turkey!

Love,
~Sheri
