Downton Abbey inspired Jewelry

Oh, how we will miss Downton Abbey on Sunday nights! We’ll watch our DVDs until we have them memorized, won’t you?

We’ve all loved the beautiful clothing, fabulous hats and jewelry the ladies have worn this season.

So I was excited to read Judith’s post on her blog, Lavender Cottage, showing us a glimpse of the Downton Abbey inspired jewelry for sale at Macy’s. I also found it on Amazon HERE. I’ve put a couple of things in my ‘wish list’.

This is a necklace that was my grandmother’s that reminds me of some of these styles.

And I have some vintage jewelry on my dresser.

Beautiful jewelry never goes out of style!

Vee will be hosting her Downton Abbey discussion today HERE.

I printed the cards, distressed them with shoe polish and put the jewelry on them. (I have more to show if anyone wants to see them.)

Will you join me at Vee’s ?

(wear your pearls and gloves! heehee)

It seems Downton just started and all too quickly it is finished for another season. Already looking forward to the next series.

I always think that jewelry looks nice on others, but I don't wear any, except for some tiny hoop earrings now and then.

DA was over in a flash but I've got all the DVD's to reminisce. Your jewelry is very pretty, love the pearls. I was just looking at my grandmother's and mother's old pins, etc. Definitely from a different era, but gorgeous! Thanks for your nice post and I will have to check the jewelry out the next time I'm at Macy's.

P.S. I thought I was a follower of your great blog, but I am now! Love your blog, something interesting always!

I keep hearing about DA, and for some reason I didn't know about it. Will have to start watching next fall.

The jewelry is lovely as are your cards. :)

Thank you for the mention Diane, love the first card with the fairy. I didn't buy any of the DA jewelry as I already have some pieces similar to what I saw for sale.
Indeed, what will we do on Sunday nights now? :-)

Hi Diane,
I had never watch Downton Abby until my teenage daughter started talking about it. Now I am HOOKED but I will have to find the first 3 seasons to have a marathon catch up session!
Love the jewelry!
Enjoy your day,
Barb

I'll miss the show until next season, but I felt discombobulated with this episode, Diane. I kept thinking, "what is going on here... and then here and there". I'm going to re-watch it again. I LOVED the ending with Carson and Mrs, Hughes. That redeemd it for me. xo

Looks like a vanity at Downton for sure! I have a cameo that's older than Violet and it's my most prized possession from a Great Uncle & Aunt. XOXO

What a unique way to display your jewelry and it's so nice you have some inherited pieces too!
I especially like your neo-classic looking watch.

Diane,
The card you made is so pretty. You did a great job. You have some fabulous vintage jewelry. I love the pearls. Pearls never go out of style, do they? I wore them on my wedding day. I'll have to check out the jewelry at Macy's now.

Love,

Your jewellery pieces are beautiful Diane. I have some old classic pieces too but don't wear them. It seems a shame to keep them tucked away. Have a nice evening. Pam

Those are pretty! I don't think I have anything that fits with the Downton era. I have some pearls (fake) but they aren't long enough.

I'm starting to feel a bit left out :(. I must admit I've yet to watch even one episode of DA. Sounds like it would be worth it just for the fashion alone.

Stephanie said...

Such lovely jewelry, Diane! Enjoy the rest of your week, sweet lady - hugs!

Cheryl @ TFD said...

I've never watched the show, but the jewelry is beautiful! I have a few pieces of old jewelry, it's a bit tarnished for wearing, tho.

Maureen Wyatt said...

I've already started watching the DVDs. You pick up new details with every viewing. This time I'm really noticing the fashions. What a nice way to showcase that style!

I love the pearls and that gorgeous watch Diane - wonderful pieces to have in your collection and yes very Downton!
We saw the latest series last year and I have them all saved on "My Sky" to re-watch at my leisure so I can study those exquisite clothes!

Started watching Downton Abby two summers ago, when it first debuted here in Greece, but lost interest as the treasures of the summer, the sun, sea and sand, won my viewership.

Love the fairy card and brooch and think it beautifully represents the gem of a show that it is!

You've inspired me to re-post my collection of 1910-1930 hand sewn silk lingerie! Your use of book covers with your jewelry was especially fun. The book cover and chapter heading art of the era are always charming. I buy those books too...don't care about if the story holds my interest, the illustration always do!

I love antique jewellery too, Diane, and I love pearls. Your photos are gorgeous today, and your pieces could easily be worn at Downton Abbey! I loved the costumes too, such lovely styles, fabrics and embroidery. Love how you put the necklace on the card you made.....I would love to see more of them!
