Books and a Photo from long ago

I’ve been reading the BEST book and sewing, too.

(You can tell around here. I desperately need to dust and vacuum!)

I just finished The Constant Princess by Philippa Gregory and it gets the highest rating in my Goodreads page. Oh, how I love this author and the historical novels she writes.

Here’s my stack of books from the library this week.

And now… the photo from long ago.

IMG_2441

I bought it at the thrift store. I didn’t even hesitate. It just seemed way too precious to pass up and I think it looks good on this shelf. (I took it apart to see if there was a name on the back of the photo…but there was not.) Even the frame is old. The back is a soft green velvet.

I’m joining Ricki Jill for Literary Friday.

And the Friday 56 HERE .

The page 56 quote from The Constant Princess,

“Henry glanced across at the princess. She had bent her head to listen to something being said by the youngest Tudor princess, Princess Mary; and he saw her smile and reply. “D’you know? I think she is something special,” he said.”

Are you reading something special this week?

Your book this week looks good, another to add to my list. The Daring Ladies of Lowell sounds intriguing as well. Have a good weekend.

I like those old sepia photos too. Hate seeing them in thrift stores though ... sent there when eventually no one knew anymore who the person was ... end of the line. It looks great on your shelf with your old telephone. Wendy x

I have that book on my reading attack, too, along with The Other Queen about Mary Queen of Scott's, also by Gregory. First I have to finish a Norq Roberts that isn't holding my attention. That sweet baby has found a perfect home. I always wonder who gives up family treasures.

Yes, I am, but more on that another day. What a darling little baby...boy do you think? I am glad that you rescued him.

I'm so glad you appreciated that photo and took it home to be with you. I often wonder what will happen to my photos -- who will want them when I am gone since I am the end of the line.

I like Phillipa Gregory's books too. Right now I am reading a book called "How To Be A Princess" and is the history of some famous princesses. I finished Mary and Elizabeth Tudor, Marie Antoinette, and am in the middle of Victoria.

He looks like an Uncle Henry!! Or maybe an Aunt Henrietta??
