11.08 is the magic number

That was my grand total for all of these ‘treasures’.

$11.08

IMG_3843

That’s actually about the most I’ve ever spent at the old thrift store in one visit but I got so many great things….oh and one thing I ‘needed’. Shocking I know! I’ll save it for last! lol

IMG_3831

I sure had fun and stood in line with another thrift buddy that I am on first name basis with now. The two ladies ahead of me were buying the 5 cent clothing and they had all they could carry.

IMG_3848

The little deer was in the package behind the Santas.

It’s all great fun for me and I buy what catches my eye. So sometimes I’m surprised when I get home and find out something is really nice.

IMG_3846

This tea cup set didn’t have a chip or crack on it and I loved the pretty design. I knew the price seemed a little high for the old thrift store but guess what?

IMG_3841

It’s Haviland Limoges!

OH MY! I am SO in love with it!

IMG_3847

And the other thing strange that happens to me all the time…when I find something neat or unique, I’ll find another one the next time I shop.

IMG_3755

I bought this sugar cube server last week. I’ve never seen one before and the price was right. ($1)

IMG_3756

You guessed it….I found another one today.

IMG_3838

For loose sugar, it even had the scoop!

I need to find tongs for the sugar cube dispenser.

IMG_3884

So what did I buy that I needed?

This little tabletop ironing board looks like new and still had the sticker on it. I’ve never had one before and it will be handy for sewing. (it was $3) I better get back to making tiny animals!

IMG_3853

This old apron was 10 cents.

IMG_3885

See anything you like?

Come to Florida and we’ll go thriftin’!

LOVE the Xmas candles! A ten cent apron?! Wow-- I'll be right down!

OMgoodness! You sure get the finds! Every time I go I just see smelly old clothing!
I still have that little prayer book that was purchased for my now-thirty year old daughter. So yours is vintage. The candles are delightful. Not sure if they are repros, but I collected them when I was young and wish I still had them. Let's just say if they are original, they'd be "old!"
What a great day you had - again!

Do I see anything I like?! I like it all!! The sugar dispensers are so unique and make a great display/conversation piece. I picked up one of those tabletop ironing boards last year. I've always wanted one for the times I don't want the big ironing board out ... I need to make a new cover for mine though as it has had some wear. You have a marvelous thrift store Dianne, and I wish I could go with you sometimes ;) Wendy x

Diane, you can believe that if I ever come to Florida I'll let you know, as there's nothing I like as much as an afternoon of poking around for treasures.
I'd say that you did very well with your thrifting trip, and the teacup would have been my favourite find!

Wow....what a haul!!! I find things in twos also...The picnic basket I just blogged about, well, I found another one a few days later. I'm loving the Haviland cup and saucer you found....so pretty!!! Wish I could get to Florida!!!

Such a lot of treasures in Florida! The tea cup is a very special find and, though I have seen the dispensers, I had no idea what they were. Interesting. What are you going to do with them? Love the apron, too, with its chicken scratch embroidery. Very sweet.

OK...I'm coming to Florida and shop at your thrift store! I rarely find great things like that here...you did GOOD!
I have neve seen those sugar cube dispensers...ever and the teacup is so beautiful. You must be charmed...

Oh Diane, that tea cup . . .that incredibly beautiful tea cup!! I can see why you bought it :) I fell in love with it the second I saw it.

Lovely finds, my friend. Hugs to you!

great buys!
nothing here is priced under 47 cents and that's rare, an ugly little cup or cheap plastic spoon maybe. sounds like a lot of fun,
Florida here I come grin!

What wonderful goodies! I love them all too, even the ironing board and we know I do not love ironing. I'm looking for sugar tongs too...they're out there...I'll find them, eventually. (I found some very small sugar cubes at Publix...so cute!)

My goodness, you got a lot of nice things for $11.08!! Our thrift stores here have their prices jacked way too high. Our kids had that little Golden book. Have a great week Diane.

Oh Diane - I would love to come to Florida and shop with you. I love Florida anyway and the thought of having someone who knew all of the good places to shop would be fantastic.

Great finds.

love when you post your finds like these! I went to the vintage shop here and dickered my way to half the tagged price on a huge lead crystal vase . I was so afraid I would drop it as I carried it home.

Hi Diane, WOW you found some great treasures too. Love the purple apron and you sure got a good price for everything.

Love the sugar cube server. What an amazing price for that too. My thrift shop here has been taking things like this and placing them in a high priced glass case and then upping the prices so it's really not a thrift item any longer.
I adore your cup and saucer too. It is gorgeous.
Isn't it fun?? Have a great day.
Love your header too.
Hugs

that is some nice and useful stuff for that little money. I have never seen the sugar server, but it is such a neat item

You lucky gal to find a Limoges for $2. I always thought the sugar scoops were for loose sugar but either would be nice, and I hope you find a pair of tongs.

I love your finds! I remember all that Santa Claus stuff from when I was young and the deer is so precious. Your tea cup is beautiful and the apron I remember when we used to do cross stitch using gingham. The silver sugar scoops are lovely. Where do you put it all? I've run out of room here! LOL!

Maggie Ann said...

Diane, those sugar cube holders are the darling-est! I've never seen those in my lifetime. =) And the cup and saucer...WoW. Everything is so special, what fun. And you are a good sport to try coloring your pages....I just focused on the cut-outs. I cut one page out and thought, man, thats like work and so time consuming. Now I'm wondering about framing one or two of the charmingest. 'est' must be my new expression. If I do color a page (and they are marvellous pictures, I'll maybe post it! How about it? Have a great day there in sunny Fl !

I spied that lavender apron in the first picture. Looks like a nice one and 10 cents - wow.

I used to have a table top ironing board like that when I was single and lived in an apartment. It worked really well.

You found some lovely things. I especially like the Limoges cup and saucer. My best find a few years ago was a Limoges serving piece. It was a little more expensive -- $7.00 -- but it's one of my favorite serving dishes.

Diane,
The tea cup is so pretty, and it's from France - how special is that? I've never seen a sugar cube server before, it's very interesting. They are both so antique looking. You always find the most delightful things.

Have a good rest of the week.

love,
~Sheri

Girlfriend next time I head to Florida....I will take you up on that!!---we are going thrifting!! We DO NOT HAVE thrift stores here like yours!! Not those prices! I love the pretty teacup most of all, very delicate and pretty colors too. Do you collect aprons? I collect old ones, I love them! There are some awesome cute ones in my amazon shop (sidebar and bottom of my blog) ,check them out sometime. But they are NEW AND more pricey than neat old vintage ones. Still make great gifts for wedding showers, mothers day, etc. tho. I love aprons. You have a great day ya hear?

I remember choir candles like that at Christmas time and the little God book as well. I think I'd not only had that book as a child but also purchased one when my boys were little.

Hope everything is ok where you are..I read that some parts of FLA received torrential rains...

We've found lots of good stuff at garage and thrift sales in Florida. I wonder if it's because people move down there when they retire and then decide to get rid of things. Anyway you sure hit the jackpot! The teacup is really pretty!

Oh my goodness, Diane, what treasures you found at the thrift store!!! I'm still sighing over the beautiful Limoges tea cup. What a beauty! I wish that I could find such wonderful bargains.
I also looked at your pretty "watercolors" and they look wonderful. I need to try that app out for myself. xo
