Seashells and Seaglass Treasures

A few of you wanted to see our ‘haul' from Canaveral National Seashore.

IMG_4633

You don’t find as much variety on this beach but you do find my favorite shell in abundance, the Calico Scallop. It comes in so many shades of purple and lavender.

IMG_4625

It thrills me to find them in the sand!

This was the most seaglass we’ve ever found on one visit and most of it was the very first day we were there.

IMG_4626

Hubby found the most unusual piece, a nice large black piece.

IMG_4629

It looks somewhat green in the bright sunlight.

IMG_4630

A few neat rocks and other shells and I’m a happy shell seeker!

IMG_4636

This white rock reminds me of the movie, Something’s Gotta Give when Diane Keaton only picks up the white rocks. I only found ONE!

IMG_4638

The shells are sorted in bags and containers and I’ll head to the thrift store soon to find some neat jars to put them in.

Do you like to decorate with things from nature?

Have a FABULOUS weekend!

I love the Calico shells! I hope I can find one some day. I have a vase full of shells that I have collected in Naples.

I seldom get to the beach but may go later on in the year to Gulf Shores. Hope I can find goodies. I love these. Hugs

Just look at all those pretties! Josie and I would gladly enjoy help sort and clean. I've purchased shells and decorated frames for our beach-themed bathroom. What fun it would be to use real shells from "real" adventures!

It's fun how many of the shells already have a hole in the perfect spot for a ribbon. I think I'd have to make a garland or something. Quite a haul, Diane!

oh yes I do, but I never find what you do, I am thousands of miles from the ocean and we rarely fin beach glass here, what a great find!!!

Diane, What glorious treasures. I love them. If you have some Yankee candle jars, they would work. I never throw those away, I will have Ted melt the last of the waxy residue out and save the jars for buttons or to hold things. Hope you and your husband have a wonderful weekend. xoxo,Susie

What gorgeous gifts from nature! We don't seem to have sea glass at all on our beaches in the PNW as I have never found a single piece. I'm looking forward to seeing how you display them.

Thanks for showing us what you collected. The very dark green big piece is probably from a very old wine bottle they used to make them too dark and thick therefore people call them black but they are not black. I loved the shells.AriadnefromGreece!

Gifts from the sea...now you're speaking my language. LOVE them all, Diane. The seaglass is rare on this coast, but I love the pieces you found, especially the light aqua sea foam one. This reminds me of Something's Gotta Give, when Diane Keaton gives Jack Nicholson a jar of pebbles they collected while walking by the shore. I've been meaning to do that with some of my gifts from the sea. Endless...
Enjoy your weekend, friend. I'm off to a little pink indulgence I wrote about. Hope you can join me, I'll be sharing a giveaway next week.

Wow, what a beautiful new collection you've gathered. It's almost impossible to find unbroken shells on the beaches around here. Great idea to display them in some pretty jars.

oooooooo, very pretty. They would make great mosaics, too! Susan

That amber piece of sea glass is unusual. Very pretty.

You got some cool stuff. I like all the rocks with the holes in them.

Patty Antle said...

Oh they are all gorgeous Diane. You can put a cord through the holes on some of them. The sea glass is so pretty. They all will look so nice in clear jars!

WOW!! so many pretty shells! Good gracious you found so many this time!! The purple ones are gorgeous. We dont have those here. I am amazed at all the seaglass y'all found. Its so pretty. I love the GREEN PEICES THE BEST!I also keep big jars of my finds as decor in the house. I use sand too, and other pretties I find on the beaches. Looks like y'all had a wonderful time! I see some people do make the smaller peices of seaglass into jewelry, have you ever done that?

Oh my, it's all so beautiful! I used to go to Florida every year when my grandparents from Canada would be there for a few months. We would stay at the Disney World campground - such fun :) Anyway, we went to the ocean one time and I gathered several shells and put them in a glass jar. They are the only shells I have in my home since we live in the mountains and we don't usually come by sea shells here :) haha

Hugs to you, sweet friend!
