See you in the funny papers!

Happy Memorial Day weekend!

I hope everyone has a beautiful holiday!

It’s HOT here in Florida but we’ll still have FUN!

I’ve read several good books lately.

BookDvd

I rate books 1-10 in my journal and I gave Wild a 10!!! I save the highest rating for only a few! It is an amazing memoir! Thanks Linda for telling me about it! You knew I would love it and I DID!!!

We’ve been watching ‘Lark Rise to Candleford’ and loving it, too. I get the DVDs at the library so it’s free entertainment. Have your watched this series? Thanks to my blog buddies that recommended this to me. A few of you mentioned it to me and I so appreciate it.

I’m joining Beautiful Sunday,

Mosaic Monday, and

Amaze me Monday .

Do you have special weekend plans?

Not hot here. We have had lots of rain, so the grass sparkles emerald green. We will spend the holiday working in the yard and planting the garden. Good reading material.

Have not seen Lark Rise....No plans for us. I've come down with something, maybe a sinus infection, but then we never really travel or do anything on holiday weekends.

I read Wild last summer and really enjoyed it.

I haven't heard "see you in the funny papers" in years - thanks for the memory.

Wild, en?! Yes, I do love Larkrise to Candleford and I thank my Brit blogging buddies for first letting me know. Gentle and good is a nice foil for the usual tv fare.

Happy Memorial Day to you too Diane! I wish I had more time to read. I get from a 1/2 hour to read and then I'm too tired. We had a lovely BBQ with steak corn and asparagus. It wa so good. Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Sorry I don't know these books yet Diana. Maybe they will be translated or they will be here some time in English. They look good. Have a nice week.

The weather in Virginia has been exceptionally nice these few days. So, of course, I have been spending a lot of time in the garden (and loving it). I plan to do that again today and a BBQ (of course!). Happy Memorial Day to you, Diane.

I love that series and was so sad to find out they'd cancelled it and there would not be any more.

Another one is The Paradise. Check it out on Amazon and see what you think. I got series one and now the second season is not ready for USA DVD players but if you like Lark Rise I think you'd like The Paradise too! :)

Thanks for the book recommendations Diane! I will look for Wild in the library. I was away for a week with my husband in California for a vacation and returned Sunday. Today we put together some outdoor furniture I ordered. Bring on Summer!

Hi Diane, I just can't seem to get into Larkrise, but I so wish they'd bring Cranford back to PBS. I loved that, and Judi Dench and Eileen Atkins were spectacular. I bet you've seen that one too, haven't you. :-) Hope you're having a wonderful day.

I read Wild when it first came out and loved it....it's one I will reread as I felt I was actually there walking with her.
I used to watch Lark's on PBS on Saturday afternoon but then they stopped showing it. It was very good and I enjoyed it.

Memorial weekend for us is celebrated every 9th of April. We call it National Heroes Day here. Unfortunately, it's not so much of a big deal here :( I think its much commemorated in your country. A little confession to make, US's memorial day is special for us because of the flash sale of most US based shopping sites ;) I hope we don't sound offending.

I have to look for Lark Rise to the Candleford too. It looks interesting for me.

Thank you for forever linking up name mate. And I apologise for the late visit.
